Teva (pronounced "teh'-vah", which in Hebrew means Nature) began more than 20 years ago when Grand Canyon river guide Mark Thatcher developed the sport sandal as a solution to the boater's dilemma of wet tennis shoes vs. flimsy flip-flops. In 1984 Teva partnered with Deckers Outdoor Corporation and Teva footwear evolved to go from the canyon, to the trails and the adventures beyond. The Teva women's line includes rugged sport sandals as well as fashionable shoes and comfortable flip flops.
