Katie says: "When it comes to technical apparel I want technical stats to back up the price point. With all the different compression garments on the market it can be difficult to choose which brand to go with. I went with Zoot based off the scientific testings and data they provided on the CompressRX line. I'm training for my first Ironman and my body was having a hard time shutting down post workouts or recovering fast enough to pick up the next workout. My legs always felt like they were “going” when they should be resting. It took a few times of wearing them to get use to the compressive feeling but they quickly grew on me. Now they are a must before bed after nightly workouts, or under my jeans during my 9-5. I've noticed decreased recovery times and my legs have a new found restfulness. My CompressRX Recovery Tights have become my knight in shining armor".

  • ZoneRX creates muscle specific zones of compression that stabilize and prevent post exercise soreness by expediting blood flow back to the heart.
  • The Recovery CompressRx™ Tights have truly graduated compression with the highest mmhg reading at the ankle 30-35 mmhg with decreasing compression through the thigh 19-23 mmhg.
  • polypropylene fibers coated with silver tech ensure ultra moisture-wicking, odor-free, antimicrobial protection
  • stirrups provide the highest amount of compression at the foot and ankle and create recovery for the entire leg
  • Zoot's lab tests produced an average 29% reduction in lactate levels and an average 25% reduction of perceived rate of effort over the course of 60 minutes. Your results may vary.
  • tights are therapeutically compressive, slowly put them on like a wetsuit or a pair of stockings
  • Zoot CompressRx Recovery Tight are for women and men

The Recovery Tight is designed to function best during resting. Athletes looking for a compression active garment should consider Zoot's Active Tight

really works to speed up recovery.

(Avid Athlete) August 4, 2012

Was unsure but desparate when I ordered these. My recovery was taking too long. These are wonderful. That jumpy leg feeling is gone at night and I can use my legs again after a hard ride or run. I know they say age is just a number, but so is recovery time and at 46 this really helps.

LOVE LOVE LOVE them!!

(Casual/ Recreational) January 28, 2012

I just received my Zoot recovery tights and top this week. After my long run of 18 miles today I took a warm Epsom salts bath, then showered and put on my new recovery pants. I'm used to wearing CW-X pants for running and love them, so putting on these tights were not a big deal. Yes, they are snug and getting over the foot is the tougher part, but look at how you start...put it on straight so the heel part will be fitting your heel. Go SLOWLY. Put each on up to the knee before working them up further. I got a size 2 and they are perfect. I'm 5'6" and vary 147-150 lbs...size 8/10. I was able to do salsa lessons late this afternoon (still in my recovery tights and top)! This was a huge improvement for mobility/agility for the same day. My husband even noticed the difference. I will use them after each long run and certainly after my marathons and half marathons! I HIGHLY recommend both the tights and the recovery top (although it took some real effort to get on --use the same procedure for getting it on--each arm to the elbow--then overhead and work the rest.) Hope this helps!

So far so good

(Avid Athlete) December 28, 2011

I've used compression tights before but those were only to below the knee. These include the foot in the compression which I really like. They are easy enough to put on and align over the knee. These do not have equal pressure with some more give over the knee which I like. I bought the shirt too and like using them together. I am going to use these after exercise and for sitting in an airplane. They feel like getting a massage, sort of.
I didn't give them a higher rating because I haven't used them long enough to give them top rating but so far so good.

  • Feels like a massage

Worth every penny

(Avid Athlete) August 22, 2011

I have used compression calf sleeves during races and recovery and have had good results, so I asked for these tights as a birthday gift. I usually have trouble with chronic muscle tightness, and often my speedwork/races will leave my legs dead for 1-2 days afterward. I've worn these tights after four 15-17 mile long runs, and two hard track workouts and have noticed the difference in my recovery. I do some light stretching right after my workout and put the tights on after an ice bath. I wear them for 1-3 hours while napping or watching TV or under my clothes at work and then use the foam roller in the evening to release any remaining muscle tightness. It is easier to get tough knots to release, and the compression is quite comforting and relaxing. I feel refreshed and my dead legs are gone. Only complaint is the tightness of the stirrup bands, which keep me from wearing them overnight. I may cut them, as other reviewers have suggested.

I am 5'10" with a 33" inseam, and the size 1 fit me perfectly. These are meant to fit super tight. They were very difficult to get on the first time, but once I lined the knees up, the rest pulled up much more easily.

Pros
  • Breathable
  • Comfortable
Cons
Uses
  • After long runs
  • After speedwork
  • After races
  • After long rides

Great for recovery!

(Competitive Athlete) July 8, 2011

I use this product after long rides and long runs. It has helped tremendously in my recovery. I am able to work out the next day after a tough workout on the weekend. It's a bit hard to get on over your heels, but once on, they fit like a glove.

Pros
  • Muscles recover faster
  • Good quality
Cons

  • After hard workouts

These things work!

(Avid Athlete) June 13, 2011

I love how my Zoot tights make my legs feel after hard workouts! It is a great addition to my recovery routine, which includes proper fueling during events (avoiding "electrolyte" drinks packed with sodium and simple sugars) recovery nutrition, foam roller to the muscles, and these fabulous tights.

So far I've only worn them at night, but intend to don them earlier in the day when heat contributes to leg swelling. The odd thing is that these tights don't make me feel hot. Normally I can't wear anything on my legs for sleeping because I overheat (here is where I admit my age: 53).

My ONLY problem with these tights is the design of the foot portion: the edging at the heel and toe area digs in... something that wakes me at night. I have slightly wide feet and the whole thing squeezes my toes together, aggravating a small bunion I can usually ignore. After reading other reviews online, I took the drastic measure of cutting the band at the toes last night. Much better! The heels are next.

Pros
  • Breathable
  • Comfortable
Cons
  • Stirrup edging too tight
Uses
  • Anytime
  • Overnight after hard ride
  • Cycling

Secret Cure for Slow, Sore, Heavy Legs!

(Competitive Athlete) June 11, 2010

These tights actually work! Last weekend I wore these after each stage of a hard stage race. I slept in them and peeled them off in the morning before racing. Coupled with a foam rolling routine, these tights are work MAGIC for recovery. After pushing myself to complete exertion in a long road race, my legs felt fresh and springy the next morning. I didn't feel like I had been racing for three days already. People seem to spend a lot of $$$ on upgrades for their bikes to make them faster or lighter. However, the lightest, stiffest handlebars on the market won't make me faster if my legs feel like jelly! The Zoot tights are like an upgrade for the legs; they help my legs feel fresh so I can go faster for longer. The only problem is that the stirrup on the foot is too tight and bothersome. I wear socks under my tights to solve this problem, particularly when I wear the tights for many hours or overnight. I will recommend these tights to EVERYONE!

Pros
  • Lightweight
  • Comfortable
Cons
  • Stirrup uncomfortable
Uses
  • Sleeping
  • Recovery
  • Office job
  • Lounging

Worth their weight in Gold!

(Conditioning Exerciser) August 4, 2009

These were recommended to me by a friend who swears by them and I am hooked - I bought two! They are fantastic for use after long runs, hard rides or any workout that leaves your legs feeling completely spent. I wore these afer a killer ride followed up by a 9 mile run and felt fantastic the next day - no fatigue! They are now an essential part of my recovery phase.

Zoot got it right with these tights!
