Lots of Fun to Wear!

(Avid Cyclist) May 20, 2011

This skort is cute, versatile, & fits well. The chamois is Terry's high-end Italian version & very comfortable.

I wore this skort & liner for the first time when I had both a mountain bike test-ride & a casual lunch with my MIL scheduled on the same day. The skort allowed me be dressed appropriately for two entirely different activities. It's just plain fun to wear.

Pros
  • Not Too Short
  • Very Comfortable Chamois
  • Versatile
Cons
  • Low Waistline on Liner
Uses
  • Commuting
  • Casual wear
  • Simple Mountain Biking
  • Road Biking
  • Waist: Feels true to size
  • Length: Feels true to length

Comfortable, but Not Cute

(Avid Cyclist) May 20, 2011

This skort is comfortable, love the detached shorts underneath, but the two pieces do not match. The skort is a slate gray, and the shorts are black with pink and white accents. The shorts are visible below the skort and in the kick pleats, so it looks like two pieces that are not meant to be worn together. Comfortable, but definitely not cute.

Pros
  • Good Pockets
  • Comfortable
Cons
Uses
  • Waist: Feels too big
  • Length: Feels true to length

Adorable, functional skort!

(Avid Cyclist) May 5, 2011

This skort is really adorable! I love the little slits, the wide waistband, the stretchy fabric, and the adjustable snaps in the back. Most bottoms are so baggy in the back, but I can adjust this one for a perfect fit, and I can wear it low, or pull it up to my waist! The chamois pad is very nice, soft, pliable, not too big, but just right for comfort. I love that I can take the liner short out and wear the skort by itself - it's like getting two garments for the price of one! The only reason I did not give it 5 stars, is because the liner is slightly long. Also, I'm between sizes, so I had to go down in size because I think it runs just a little bit big.

Pros
  • Comfortable
  • Adjustable
  • Durable
  • Good Padding
Cons
  • Liner is slightly long
  • Slightly big
Uses
  • Everyday
  • Warm Weather
  • Recreational Riding
  • Commuting
  • Waist: Feels true to size
  • Length: Feels true to length

Nice but not a keeper

(Casual/ Recreational) May 3, 2011

Could not use the produst as it was sized incorrectly.

Service comments: Prompt delivery. Return Policy is OK. But had I purchased this from Terry they would take it back no questions asked without tags, etc.

Pros
  • Fabric is nice
Cons
  • Sized incorrectly
  • Bad Overall Design
  • Poor Fit
Uses
  • Road Biking
  • Warm Weather
  • Waist: Feels too big
  • Length: Feels true to length

Shorts and liner don't match

(Avid Cyclist) April 25, 2011

I really liked the idea of a skirt with detachable shorts liner, but I couldn't love the reality. It looks as though Terry cobbled together two garments without noticing that they don't go together at all.

The shorts (on me) are longer than the skirt. That might be okay if the two were complementary, but they're not. The skirt is brownish gray; the shorts are black mesh with pink accents and "TERRY" in big white letters around the gripper elastic. They don't look good sticking out from underneath the skirt.

The liner shorts themselves are what Terry calls mid rise and I would call low rise. For biking, I much prefer shorts that hit at the true waistline (like their standard bike shorts).

The skirt didn't appeal to me on its own, either. The polyester fabric is shiny, like cheap men's suiting, and it's quite thick, so the kick pleats, which fall at mid-thigh, seem to stick out in an unflattering way. There are nice features, like a good zip pocket, adjustable waist (handy because the size M skirt was large on me), cute waistband liner fabric, and 2-way zip, but overall it just didn't look good on me.

Bottom line: if you want separate bike shorts and skirt for riding, try your own combination.
