Sandy says:"I've ridden the Butterfly saddle for years. The shape works well for me. A fairly flat profile, a broad tail, and the cutout (absolutely nothing, right where I need it most!) all make for comfortable riding. The cover is seamless so there's nothing to chafe, and the padding is dense and supportive, like a firm mattress."

  • lightest weight Ti-nox rails attach to the shell in an integral suspension bridge design that minimizes road shock
  • textured leather cover wears beautifully over time and keeps you in position
  • completely cut away through the nose and mid-section, making it flexible and comfortable against soft tissues
  • low profile, flat top with multi-density injection molded foam that's a bit stiffer in the rear for more power while pedaling
  • wider in the rear than typical race saddles for good support of a woman's sit bones
  • 274 gram (9.7 oz) approx. weight
  • 15.5 cm (6.1 inch) wide
  • 4.3 cm (1.7 inch) wide at nose
  • 26.2 cm (10.3 inch) long
  • best all-around saddle for cycling on all types of terrain

"The Terry Butterfly is the best saddle I have ever ridden on. During the cycling season I average 150-200 miles a week and even after 50 hot and fast miles the Terry Butterfly is still comfortable. In addition to the comfort, it is very light weight (titanium rails) and the silver trim and butterfly logo are good looking. It is not cheap as saddles go, but for the serious cyclist it is probably the BEST women's saddle around!"
Veronica O. -- New Jersey, USA

"I've tried at least 10 different saddles. The terry butterfly is the best. It would be hard to convince me to use something else."
Renee S.

"Love my butterfly. I have it on both my road bikes. It's not too bulky that it gets in the way but it's soft enough but still supportive."
Diamon R.

Best Women's Saddle EVER

(Avid Cyclist) April 28, 2014

I've been riding Butterflies on all my bikes for 15 years. I've tried other saddles periodically, but they never last long. NOTHING else is as comfortable.

My only advice is: the Butterfly must be absolutely level! If it tilts up at all, you have exactly the issues that a couple of reviewers mentioned. Eyeballing it isn't enough...you have to actually get a level and check it. Also, it feels very firm for the first few rides. I alway caution women to try it for at least two weeks.

Uncomfortable

(Avid Cyclist) November 27, 2012

My husband bought this saddle for me as a gift. I gave it a "good try" and rode it for most of the 2012 season. It was really uncomfortable. It dug into my crotch. (Perhaps it was too narrow?) I am now riding another saddle and am much happier. I'm not saying that this is a bad saddle. It just isn't the right saddle for me.

Not for Me!

(Casual/ Recreational) September 17, 2011

There is a lot of positive comment about these seats, but I had my doubts. It just does not look comfortable, in terms of weight distribution across the whole saddle. After one recreational ride, my doubts are confirmed, I found it to be very firm, unforgiving across any sort of uneven surface and has caused bruising to the sensitive area it is advertised as protecting! Particularly uncomfortable down hill.I'm putting my old saddle back on.

This saddle is a keeper

(Casual/ Recreational) July 30, 2011

I put this saddle on my Vita Comp (hybrid) and am quite pleased so far. The seat fits me so well that I can even go for an evening ride wearing casual shorts (without a chamois). I am so glad I decided to replace the stock saddle that came on my bike with this one.
The white leather is lovely and works perfectly with the grey/white color scheme on my bike. So far, I have not had any issues with this saddle.

Great seat - I'm lovin' it

(Avid Cyclist) November 28, 2010

I purchased this saddle after reading all the Terry reviews, and finding it on sale at [...] (bonus!). I've been in love with it ever since. It's lighter than the racing saddle I used prior, and much, much, much more comfortable. The padding is perfect for a long ride, I'm never uncomfortable on it. It was easy to install and adjust, and it looks pretty (seriously, who doesn't love black cheetah print?). I'm training for a century ride and get in about 150-200 miles per week, so it's getting plenty of use, but it still looks brand new. I'm a mid-pace rider, and haven't had any issues with this while sprinting or climbing. It seems to be pretty durable, but I'll purchase a new one the day this one wears out.
