Renata says: This IS the saddle for my position on the bike! I ride a stiff carbon road racing bike in a fairly aggressive position. Since my hips are rolled forward, a slightly narrower saddle like the FLX is perfect for me. It's not too narrow, not too wide, not too hard, not too mushy, it is just right! I love the slight flex in it. When I'm pushing, hard, it seems to allow just the right amount of pressure to be applied to it before it gives, just ever so slightly, like it's a part of me, and it knows to give me a little wiggle room.

GUARANTEED COMFORT! Buy your new Terry saddle RISK FREE. If you don't like it, simply return it within 90 days and we will refund the original purchase price. Or, you can exchange it for another model to try out. Your choice! This comfort guarantee applies to ALL Terry models we stock.

Not for me

(Avid Cyclist) October 10, 2011

This saddle is clearly a work of art. Absolutely gorgeous to look at, but not practical for me. Not enough support where I need it, and unfortunately I am returning it. I bought it because my current saddle had too much padding on the nose, so I went looking for a saddle with less padding and of course this one caught my eye. The first 10 miles were fine, then my rear end started screaming. Maybe I could have 'broken it in' and made it work, but I'm not sure I want to torture myself in the meantime! Believe the reviewer who said this saddle wants to be ridden in an aggressive position. If you ride more on the nose, and less on the rear portion of the saddle, it may work for you. I will say that the white patent down the middle is very striking!

Pros
  • Lightweight
  • Gorgeous
Cons
  • No shock absorption
  • Not Enough Padding

GREAT SADDLE

(Avid Cyclist) March 18, 2011

Chicas: do yourself a favor and measure the distance between your butt bones (easiest to get good estimate when leaning forward on a hard bottom chair) BEFORE you buy your saddle. Do not rely on the bike shop to do this for you accurately. The Terry FLX is a GREAT saddle IF it fits you. This is one of the widest saddles available today. I'm 5'8" 130 lbs and I have relatively wide hips. This saddle is comfortable for 120 mile events, hill climbing and shorter training rides. I went through 8 saddles before finally finding this one. It's the best.

Pros
  • Lightweight
  • Great for long rides
Cons
  • None

Terry Women's FLX Saddle

(Avid Cyclist) July 7, 2010

This is a saddle best suited for an aggressive position on the bike. Note, it does NOT have a flat surface. Because of the "suspension" design, it actually cradles you. I have my saddle nose tilted up. This makes the middle and rear flatter. The nose up position doesn't pose a problem with very little pressure. Once you figure this out and tweak your position, it is a great saddle. Narrow nose doesn't feel bulky between your thighs. Cannot stress it enough it is a saddle for an aggressive position. Those who like a more upright position, go with the Butterfly. A "bad" saddle is usually a symptom of a bad bike fit. Having said that, each saddle does have its own characteristics. Did I say that this saddle likes to be ridden in an aggressive position? My riding style is to sit and spin. I don't sit on the nose and hammer much. Hope this helps you make a good saddle choice.

Gorgeous, but oh-so-uncomfortable

(Avid Cyclist) July 4, 2010

I love Terry saddles and switched from my worn-out Zero X to the FLX. While they may look similar, the two aren't comparable. I'm 5'4" and weigh 110 lbs. and feel like the FLX is designed for much, much smaller women. There isn't enough room to scoot forward when climbing or back when descending. Left the FLX on my bike for 3 weeks and rode 30-40 miles/day. Was sore (hands, shoulders, butt) after about 4 miles in. Took the FLX off and wanted to fling it as far as possible. Put my Zero X back on, went back to pain-free riding, and cranked up my mileage. Ordered another Zero X...

cut out too small

(Avid Cyclist) June 17, 2010

I have ridden the butterfly for years and loved it but have recently lost about 20 lbs and it started to cause me some mild problems. Felt I needed a firmer saddle so tried the new Flx. Un fortunately the cut out section is way to narrow and dosen't work for me at all even though I think it looks great.
