Great idea, but doesn't stay put!

(Beginner) June 11, 2010

When I ran my first triathlon a few years ago, I didn't do a good job predicting just how tired (physically and mentally) I would be when I needed to transition. One of the things that was just too hard to figure out was how to use a safety pin. I decided a race number belt would be super helpful, but I don't like to carry extra weight with those mini water bottles and stuff. I attached the number, put it with my shoes, and lo and behold, super quick and easy.

The cons: I'm not 107 pounds, and even though I felt like the size of the belt fit fine, it spent the whole run riding up. I jammed it down a few times so that it was almost around my butt, which seemed to help for awhile. I'm not sure if it's because I'm curvy-ish or what, but I wish there were some easy and quick way to keep the belt where it belongs. Maybe I should have gone with a water bottle carrying one just for the extra weight.
