They're wool, so they keep my feet warm but without overheating. They are crew length so my ankles don't get cold but they aren't knee socks, so I don't get too warm in the office. They're cushioned on the bottom so my feet get less tired if I'm standing a lot during the day. And the colors are so fun: the navy ones go great with my jeans, and the charcoal ones go great with my black dressy slacks! I might have to find some brown pants so I can justify getting the espresso ones too!
