Awesome, but runs short and size UP

(Athletic, Practical) January 8, 2014

This is the best winter sports bra I've found. I've had a couple fleece ones for years and never understood why they are so hard to find. Found this wool one and the Icebreaker one this year; went with SmartWool because of the outer stretchy layer, which keeps the wool from stretching out after only a few wearings. I ski and snowshoe in this--wore it six days straight in the northern Rockies over the holidays, no odor, nice and toasty both while and after sweating. Also dries super-fast.
Fit: SmartWool's size chart says I could wear a S or M (I'm a 34B). M was better because the "rise" (or maybe the "drop") from shoulder to chest band is not an iota longer than it absolutely has to be. Friends have found the armhole edges in front a bit snug on the smaller of their two possible sizes (XS and S).

Pros
  • Breathable
  • Comfortable
  • Durable
Cons
  • price
  • Scarcity
Uses
  • Snow Sports
  • Cup Fit: Feels true to size
  • Band Size: Feels true to size

This bra is wonderful!

(Comfort-oriented, Practical) April 14, 2013

I ride for many many hours, sometimes in the cold and rain. I wear wool bras all winter and spring, because they never, ever feel cold and clammy. This bra is the best of the ones I've used. The cups are big enough that I don't slip out the bottom, the straps are stretchy enough, and very comfortable. It fits like a comfortable synthetic sports bra, without the synthetic fabric drawbacks. Must buy more :-)

I wore this on my recent exceptionally cold and rainy 300k brevet, and it was wonderful.

(this was a gift for my birthday, but I directed the purchase. Husband needed gift selection assistance.)
