Edna says: Smartwool NTS Light 195 Zip Tee - I am partial to turtleneck styles, and even more so with a front zipper, and I just love the weight (and color) of this top. It is lighter/cooler than the midweight tops, and heavier/warmer than the microweight tops. The fabric is so soft and cozy, great to wear on it's own all day or even multiple days in a row. I wear my Smartwool tops a lot during the Fall, Winter and Spring. Having them in various weights mean I have the right one for that days temperature, or can make the right combination when I layer. In my opinion, a person can never have too many Smartwool zip tees.

  • 100% Merino Wool, form-fit, with a jersey rib knit and UPF 35 protection
  • sculpted side panels eliminate true side seams to help reduce chafing and improve fit
  • contoured sleeves and drop-tail hem adds versatility and coverage
  • 20cm front center zipper with semi-locking logo slider and chin guard
  • interior flat-lock seams with contrast color stitching
  • Torso length from top of shoulder to bottom hem in size small is 24 inches in front, 26 inches in back. Larger sizes will be longer by as much as several inches in an XL.

Warm and Good Looking!

(Intermediate) March 19, 2015

I wear this for bike rides on chilly days. Depending on the temperature, I layer it over a lighter weight merino long sleeve top (SmartWool NTS 150), or leave off the underlayer on warmer days. Topped with a windbreaker jacket, the lightweight and breathable warmth is unbeatable. I'm looking forward to spring when I plan to wear it under a bike jersey. The wool blend is luscious to touch and the fit is great. I like the seam detailing and the contrast color panels. The zipper is sturdy and solid, and I can adjust it one handed without stopping the bike. There's nothing to not like about it!
