No endurance for urban cyclist

(Avid Cyclist) January 31, 2012

I cycle 25km round trip every day to work in Pacific Northwest rain. Although these booties are very good for keeping the rain out of my shoe, I am profoundly underwhelmed that 2 months into wearing them, they have completely disintegrated along all the lower seams. The upper material also rips easily and as with all Sugoi material, almost immediately ripped on the inner right heel when it got caught on the cog rim (not the teeth).
I like the material Sugoi use - it is really good for keeping me waterproof, but they seriously need to add some practicality to their designs. To have an inch of tough cordura along the underneath and extending an inch up from the rims and some re-enforicement at the right heel would be seriously welcome. However, at present they do not and I am left seriously not happy that these expensive booties do not have a long work life. I guess they are designed for the competitive cycler who will clip in for a 100km sprint. But they are definitely not designed for the urban commuter!
