Anona says: Sing with me now... "Best Chamois everrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" That's right. This chamois rocks. It's so comfortable that I forget about it. This might sound funny to y'all, but in my opinion, the sign of a good chamois is that it doesn't have a life of its own. The RC Pro chamois "stays put" in just the right place; there is no rubbing, chafing, or movement to remind me that it's there! This is great, because I prefer that my LEGS let me know how hard I've been riding :-) Thermal knickers are perfect for spring rides, because they let me be excited about slightly warmer temperatures, but I don't make the mistake of wearing shorts and freezing. The same goes for fall, when I'm mentally not ready for tights, but when the chilly breeze hits the knees. Since I wear them for at least two seasons, knickers are arguably the most important and versatile piece in my wardrobe!

  • 3D contoured RC Pro chamois with V Control padding for dampening, and strategic perforations for thermal and moisture regulation

Very comfortable

(Avid Cyclist) June 24, 2014

I purchased these knicks for winter and they do keep you warm on really cold mornings.
Sugoi I find are a little low waisted to other brands I have tried but all up they are very comfortable and the chamois is also very comfortable.
I am a size 10 and small fits fine.

Pros
  • Comfortable
  • Good Fit
  • Good Padding
  • Warm
Cons
  • A Little Low Waisted
Uses
  • Cold Weather
  • Road Biking
  • Waist: Feels true to size
  • Length: Feels true to length

Tight Calves

(Casual/ Recreational) April 22, 2014

I have muscular calves and there is a seam in the calf area that makes these knickers too tight. I have to pull the seam past my calf muscle which makes them bunch at the knee. Otherwise, they fit well and the weight of the fabric is just right for cold early spring/late winter rides.

Pros
  • Comfortable
  • Durable
  • Good Padding
  • Warm
Cons
  • Too Tight In The Calves
Uses
  • Cold Weather
  • Commuting

loved them at first....

(Avid Cyclist) January 13, 2014

I'm bummed!! After only the third time wearing them (average of 50 mile rides) I just notice the material on the butt area starting to show signs of wear... Not sure how to describe but sort of breaking down, not going to last.

Pros
  • Comfortable
  • Good Fit
  • Good Padding

Great tight for transitional weather

(Avid Cyclist) March 5, 2013

I tend not to wear as much clothing as my biking partners, and these knickers were the perfect solution for late winter/early spring riding. They were more comfortable than shorts and knee warmers, and I did not get so warm climbing that I regretted having worn them. The Chamois, as always, is the bomb. I'm tall, and I was a little concerned where the knickers hit my calf. They worked out fine. Highly recommend.

Great knickers!

(Avid Cyclist) November 7, 2011

The lining of these pants is oh-so-soft! I like them so much, I might get the same pair in the full length for the really cold rides! I wear a size 6, or a medium in sugoi pants and the medium fit true to size. Great for fall weather!

Great for cool mornings

(Casual/ Recreational) June 21, 2011

This is a lovely knicker for use in cooler weather. It doesn't get that cold in the winter in southern Australia so this a a good compromise between shorts (way too cold) and full tights (bit too warm).

I agree - BEST chamois ever!

(Avid Cyclist) May 29, 2011

I admit that I am in love with this chamois. The fabric and contoured fit of these knickers is pretty good -- they are designed really well.

The only thing I can find wrong with these (and I have the RS shorts as well and have the same issue with them) is the fit ratio between the legs and waist. In order to fit the legs, I have to wear a large (medium is way too tight in the thighs), but my waist is more of a medium fit.

It's not a huge deal, but that's the only thing from keeping these from a "perfect" score in my books!

Other than that, I love that these knickers are great for cool morning commutes (I just wear knee socks) and cool enough for warmer afternoon commutes home at the end of the day -- I need another pair!!!

Pros
  • Good Fit
  • Breathable
  • Comfortable
  • Great chamois

Cons

Best Knicker Out There

(Competitive Cyclist) April 19, 2011

I have been riding 25+ years and have bought 3 pair of these and love the fabric, the double-layer knees, and the fit. The knickers are very well made compaired to others I have purchased. I have worn these on Century rides, races, etc. and they have never failed me. I hope Sugoi continues to make them and doesn't change them like other companies have done and spoiled their product. I have tried many different brands and I continue to come back to these every time.

Best knickers out there

(Avid Cyclist) January 27, 2011

These are the best tights I've found for winter riding in northern California. The thicker midzero fabric is a perfect weight for colder morning and rainy days. I've had no problems with the seams or chamois that the other reviewers mentioned. This includes days of 60- 100miles with excessive amount of climbing.

Pros
  • Good Fit
  • Comfortable
  • Durable
Cons
Uses
  • Long Rides
  • Cold Weather

Too much articulation

(Competitive Cyclist) November 23, 2010

I purchased these knickers because I wanted a pair with thicker fabric for colder weather. I love the MidZero fabric, the double-layer knees, and the fit. The knickers seem to be very well made. I've been riding for about 30 years and of all the bike clothing I've owned (and remember) the fabric and fit is my favorite. I wish I could give the Sugois 5 stars for those features and 1 star for the chamois. The chamois seems to be high quality. I would compare the density of the padding to Assos (which I've held in my hand, but never owned/worn). The problem is the articulation. For my anatomy this is one of the worst chamois ever. It's similar to the 2010 Pearl Izumi chamois. It has a narrow strip of padding in the center-front. To make matters worse this bit of padding seems to be thicker. It is very uncomfortable for me and made it impossible for me to ride on my aero bars for any length of time. I will say that I did not experienced any rope-burn type sores I sometimes get at the juncture of my butt and thigh after 4-5 hours. And it's a good thing since I was rolled back on my butt for nearly 200k to stay off the front part of the chamois. I did not have any problems with seams as the other reviewer mentioned. Personally I wish more manufacturers would stick with a simple chamois and stop trying to guess where I need padding and where I don't. Those chamois may not look as pretty or high-tech, but we don't buy the things to hang on the wall as art.

Saddle: Brooks Swallow
Knicker Test Rides:
Ride #1: 4-5 hours. I put the knickers on after I'd already been on my bike for 16 hours, so I was not able to judge what aspects of my discomfort were due to the Sugois.
Ride #2: 200k. I spent the second half of this ride considering stopping at a farmhouse and borrowing scissors to remove the offending wad of padding in the front of the chamois. I did not experience pain or chafing, just discomfort and numbness.

Pros
  • Durable
  • Warm
Cons
  • Too Much Padding
Uses
  • Waist: Feels true to size
  • Length: Feels true to length

Irritating seam

(Avid Cyclist) September 20, 2010

There is a seam from the chamois down the inner thigh area and it chafes big time! What a terrible place for a seam...it appears to "rub" the side of the saddle as I pedal and creates chafing.
They are warm in our climate - the prairies in Canada.
They would have been a great investment if it weren't for that one seam!

Pros
  • Durable
  • Warm
  • Good Padding
Cons
  • Chafes
