Padding Great For Irritated Rider

(Casual/ Recreational) May 17, 2013

This is the first pad that I can wear that does not cause me irritation. Even though I needed to order a size down from their measurements (says I'm a Med., but Small fits GREAT), these liners fit extremely well. The material is comfortable and non-irritating. They seem to be holding up well and breathe well and dry quickly. The knickers are a bit warm for warmer weather (80 degrees & above) - but great for those slightly cooler days. I even wore them under unpadded winter tights for cooler weather. I have had a terrible time finding a pad that literally does NOT irritate me. Part of the problem is that it is assumed that the WIDTH of the pad should be the same for all women. I would even like to see the width of this pad somewhat narrower, but with the same thickness & design. In order to help others, I am going to tell you that I have had herpes since my 20s and have read that others also have problems finding the right pad. I am also 5'6" & a size 6, so I am not large, but also not as small as many other riders.
I intend to buy the Small in the shorter liner (same design) which I wear under unpadded knickers for biking. I wear knickers or very long shorts due to some varicose veins which I do not like to show off even though I am in good shape (I am 56). I also bought Sheila's VENUS knickers and have yet to wear them though the pad and fit is the same. I do not yet know about longer rides than 30 miles - but I do know I have not found another pad I can tolerate. Good Luck & Good Riding!

Pros
  • Good Fit
  • Breathable
  • Good Padding
  • Dries Quickly
  • Comfortable
  • Durable
Cons
  • Tag Irritating-do Tagless
Uses
  • Commuting
  • Long Rides
  • Groomed Trail Riding
  • Road Biking
  • Waist: Feels too big
  • Length: Feels true to length

Love, Love, Love

(Avid Cyclist) May 6, 2013

I almost exclusively use Liners for cycling. Currently I am training for my first Century ride and have been trying out different liners for my long rides. These are outstanding for comfort and the only ones that have yet to chafe me in any way. The lace elastic at the legs and waist are super comfy and do not bind like other, narrower elastic bands do. The construction is solid and should prove lasting. I am buying as many as I can afford!

Only wish they would make a pair of ankle-length tights with the lace for cold weather riding! Please keep making these wonderful garments!
