A skort for short rides

(Avid Cyclist) December 7, 2012

I purchased these last year (from another store) and I had issues with them.

First off, the seams ripped in the leg after one ride. I've never had that happen with cycling shorts before, and was surprised it happened after one use. I returned these and exchanged them for the same skort, which I have not yet worn on a second ride.

My other issue with this skort is that the padding is insufficient. It's very thin. I'd say if you're riding under 20 miles, or just casually cruising on a bike path at the beach, this skort should be fine. If you plan on riding anything more than that, I'd recommend using a different cycling bottom or you might end up with saddle sores.

This skort is true-to-size. I'm generally a 10 on bottom and the size Large fit fine. The waist is too big for me, but I always have that problem. I also ordered an XL and I was swimming in it. The design of the skort is cute. I hate bike shorts and this adds a little bit of style to the lycra wonderland of cycling attire.

At half off, this skort is fairly priced. I actually paid full-price at another retailer and felt that, given the quality issues, it was not a good investment.

Pros
  • Comfortable
  • Breathable
Cons
  • Weak Seams
  • Not Enough Padding
Uses
  • Road Biking
  • Cold Weather
  • Waist: Feels true to size
  • Length: Feels true to length
