Simply the BEST!

(Conservative) December 1, 2013

I bought my Sidi's in March of 2010 and since then have put approximately 10,000 miles in them. Apart from a little wear & tear they still look great and are performing as well as they were when they were new! The only issues I've ever had with these shoes is that the ratchet will come loose every now & then, requiring a couple turns of a screwdriver to tighten it back up. Which is to say there really aren't any issues to speak of. (I could probably dribble a little Loc-Tight on the screws and never have to do this again.) While I have had to replace my cleats about once a year, I am only now in need of replacing the heel cap!

The fit of these cycling shoes has been perfect out of the box. There was no breaking in period for me. I also ordered my usual size (39.5) with no problems. But then I probably have the most average of feet with nothing extraordinary or out of the norm. I've only very rarely experienced hot spots, and when I have it is likely due to eroding pedal-stroke technique due to fatigue than any fault in the shoe. I have only experienced it on particularly hard longer rides of 80+ miles. And then only briefly. A little break and consciously pulling up on the pedals (ie, making my pedal stroke round) has always taken care of things.

All in all, you won't regret purchasing such quality, but you may regret settling for less. These shoes are currently not much more expensive than medium quality shoes! You should buy them and be glad you found a bargain! I paid over $400 for these shoes in 2010, and I don't regret one penny of it! When they finally fail I will look to buy this model again (if it's still being produced by then!)

Don't waste time/money on other shoes

August 13, 2013

Well, I have to be the voice of dissent in the reviews to size up. I wear a 7-7.5 in a street shoe, depending on brand. For some reason, I ended up with a 40 in another brand road shoe and was experiencing significant issues with hot spots and numbness on the ball of my feet on rides in excess of 20 miles. I tried moving my cleats, putting inserts in them ... lots of things. No relief. My very serious roadie friend said to quit wasting time and money and just get these. And I did, days before a 72-mile ride around Lake Tahoe. Normally, I'd be a bit freaked out to wear a brand new pair of shoes on a ride like that, but they fit like a glove out of the box and were more comfortable than the shoes I'd been riding in for a year. So, now, I tell anyone not to waste time and money on less expensive options. Are these pricey? Yes they are. But this is a case of you get what you pay for. I'm now a Sidi customer for life. They are durable. I haven't ridden in lots of rain with them, but I routinely dump water on myself as I'm riding in summer and the uppers never seem the worse for wear.

Yes, I too have high arches and I like the ratchet buckle to dial in just the right fit. I also have fairly narrow feet, so these fit me better than other brands. And, I'm just fine in a 38.5. I did order 3 pairs - 38, 38.5 and 39 to make sure I was getting the right fit this time. It was easy to return the two that didn't work.

Carbon sole shoe at a great price

March 18, 2013

All the reviews I read, both here and in other forums suggested that the Sidi ran small, based on this I went a full size up and they fit perfectly. My other road shoe is a Specialized size 40, I bought the 41 in the Sidi.

I have very high arches so the adjustable ratchet closure helps me get a good comfortable fit.

I haven't ridden in these yet, so I can't comment on the comfort on the bike.

Feel Like Slippers!

(Stylish) September 24, 2012

I read another reviewer who said to order a 41 if you are a 39. I took your advice (thank you!) and they are perfect. Feel like slippers on - which with my arthritic toes is a miracle. Love them.

Pretty and Confortable

(Stylish) May 31, 2012

So hard to tell about sizing. I wear an 8 in everyday shoes, a 39 in Louis Garneau, and ended up with a 41 in these. I like my shoes to fit a little loose since they tend to swell in the heat. They are oh so comfortable and well-ventilated. I ordered the white vernice which are a patent and they are much easier to clean than I thought they would be with a magic eraser. They are very well made and I foresee them holding up for a long time. They also look great on!

Felt like butter on my feet BUT...

(Style Driven) February 23, 2011

I ordered these thinking they would fit...I'm borderline 10.5/11. Wrong. As with anything European or Italian...SIDI's run small. I ended up returning and getting the men's version in 44.5. That is significantly larger than the 43's but I was told to treat them like running shoes which might explain why my old shoes numbed my toes. (too narrow) Beyond sizing, these are amazing. Please try on in the store first!
