Dual Compound Technology

In the center of the tread the friction-resistant rubber compound is extremely durable, while the tread sides are made from a grippy silica mixture providing superb cornering ability. The RaceGuard® puncture protection belt has been developed particularly for racing tires: Though adding only negligible weight and hardly affecting rolling resistance, it protects just fine against punctures. The new RaceGuard® puncture protection belt

A new type of puncture protection belt reinforces the new generation Stelvio: the RaceGuard® Belt. It consists of two carcass layers, between which is sandwiched a virtually impenetrable rubber compound. This rubber mixture is made from a special rubber that is very flexible and does not affect rolling resistance. Together with the usual three carcass layers the two additional ones bring the total to five protecting belts.

Folding Tire

A folding tire is a special version of the clincher tire. In this tire, the wire is replaced with a bundle of Kevlar fibers that allows it to fold easily and also makes the tire lighter than a comparable beaded tire by about 50 - 90 grams.
