Great for touring

(Avid Cyclist) November 18, 2014

Purchased a second pair of these shorts because they are so comfortable and versatile. I like the way they look much better than lycra, especially when touring. The liner can be used under tights for less bulk when it's cold. If it warms up, I just take off the tights and slip on the shorts. A big plus for touring - they dry quickly.

  • Dries Quickly
  • Good Fit
  • Good Padding
Cons
  • Inadequate Pockets

Perfect mountain bike shorts

(Avid Cyclist) July 25, 2013

Wore these in a mtn bike race, took several falls on rocks that would have snagged spandex shorts. These shorts are the perfect fit, length and rise, you can wear these anywhere and not be self conscious about walking around in tight spandex.

Pros
  • Durable
  • Dries Quickly
  • Comfortable
  • Good Padding

Great alternative to lycra

(Casual/ Recreational) March 27, 2011

I like these shorts as they don't cling to the lumps and bumps (of the mature figure!) like lycra. They are also incredibly light and the outers could be used on their own for bushwalking. I think they will be great for Vietnam.

Pros

  • Good Fit
Cons
Uses
  • Commuting

Best baggy shorts for mountain biking.

(Avid Cyclist) March 1, 2011

Fit is flattering and very comfortable on the bike. Most baggy shorts are prone to bunching up these don't. The removable liner is a bonus as this means outer short can be used for other activities or reused fir a second day riding with a pair of Lycra shorts as a liner.

  • Breathable
  • Good Pockets

  • Good Padding
  • Comfortable

Love them!!

(Avid Cyclist) November 14, 2010

Most shorts with separate padded undershorts don't fit as well as these. It feels like a single short, gives well and has become my favorite, so I must get more!

Great fit

(Avid Cyclist) July 29, 2010

I just received these in the mail so haven't road tested them yet. But I can't believe I won't have to wear those tight biking shorts anymore. I have always been embarrased to get off my bike as they are so unflattering. These are great, fit perfectly and are actually flattering.

Great fit for curvy girls!

(Casual/ Recreational) May 1, 2010

I'm a very curvy woman, and I mean I'm a size 12, with hips and thighs. Women like me have trouble finding athletic clothing that doesn't emphasize everything I'd like to camouflage. These are my favorite riding shorts; they fit well with a nice compression liner & loose outer shell (I wear a Large), and the comfortable chamois has held up well (still my go-to short for my 23-mile rides, even after 2 years of washing and wearing). What DOESN'T hold up well is the flimsy plastic zipper they use for the fly. The tiny teeth eventually fail to close. This is the 2nd pair of Shebeest shorts to fail there - and I rarely even USE the zipper because of the easy on/off elastic waistband, drawstring, & snap. My solution: I sewed the fly closed so it doesn't gape open when I sit anymore. However, I think these garments cost enough to warrant serviceable components. The shorts would have earned 5 stars, otherwise.
