Katie says: "I sweat. Alot. (Wo)man-made lake alot. When riding my trainer inside, it's normal for me to change shorts 60 to 90 mins in, but with this short, I don't have to. I recently used this short during a 2.5hr spin. The fabric never felt damp, in fact, it wasn't until I got off the bike that I noticed how sweaty I had become. I think the true test of a performance garment is using it without noticing it. The S-Pro passed the test with an A+. I've now dubbed my S-Pro the Super Performance Short!"

As a Shebeest fan...

(Competitive Cyclist) July 7, 2014

I am a HUGE fan of Shebeest jerseys and the SSS Short but I wanted to try a short with a little thicker/more dense chamois in preparation for a 200 mile bike race. So, I decided to order a pair of the S-Pro Shorts. (For the record, I am 5'2" and 112# and have been wearing a size XS in Shebeest cycling shorts.)

I LOVED everything about the S-Pro short when I tried them on. Fit, fabric feel, size was perfect...everything, EXCEPT the position of the chamois! Did the designers not sit on a saddle while wearing these shorts? My sitz bones were about 2" in front of the thickest portion of the padding and basically sitting on my saddle with NO padding under them. I tried pulling the shorts up in the front, sitting more upright on my bike, etc. but NOTHING was going to make that chamois ride under the bones I was actually sitting on. :-(

I really wanted these shorts to work but alas, they are going back. If I could have the chamois rotated about 2" to the front of the short...

Pros
  • Comfortable
  • Good Fit
  • Good Padding
Cons
  • Misplaced Chamois
Uses
  • Long Rides
  • Road Biking
  • Waist: Feels true to size
  • Length: Feels true to length

NOT the same Pro Short from last season

(Avid Cyclist) March 18, 2014

Let me start by saying that I LOVE SheBeest shorts - in fact, they are all I have worn for the last five years (yes, it was tough when they went out of business briefly).

I have a big multi-day ride coming up in May, so I naturally ordered another pair of the Shebeest Pro-S Shorts. I didn't notice when I ordered them that the SKU had changed since I ordered my last pair in November. Sadly, I also didn't notice that the chamois had changed from Shelastic to Luxe either until I had already washed the shorts and had them at the gym to wear for spin class.

Unfortunately, these pro-shorts from Shebeest don't fit at ALL like the Pro Shorts from just 6 months ago! While the waist and fit through the butt is similar, and I still appreciate the wide waist, the leg openings are about 1/2 inch bigger than before, to the point where the elastic doesn't grip my legs (and my legs are NOT that skinny), causing the chamois to bunch up. I didn't have much choice but to wear them for my 1.5 hour spin this morning, and while they maybe fine for indoor riding, I hesitate to take these on a 3-6 hour mountain bike ride.

On a positive note, I kind of liked the Luxe Chamois, though it would take a few more rides to really give it a thorough review. While my sit bones were happy, my girl parts felt a little crowded....hard to tell if they were cranky from the chamois or from my 3+ hours in the saddle on Sunday!

Pros
  • Dries Quickly
  • Good Padding
Cons
  • Poor Fit
Uses
  • Waist: Feels too big
  • Length: Feels true to length
