Happy

(Casual/ Recreational) June 24, 2014

Despite having biked fairly often for most of my life I'm not exactly a lycra bike shorts kind of girl, being a tad on the well endowed side for that sort of display. It took me until I was almost 40 to buy these, my first pair, as I train for my first triathlon. I get the hype. I can't believe how much further I can bike without my seat hurting my sensitive bits. Moreover, while I'm not going to go out to dinner in these things, I can't believe how not-unflattering they are. I measured carefully and bought the according size, and I'm very happy with the fit and comfort. No pinching, no need to tug. It's motivating to have the correct, well-fitting gear.

Pros
  • Breathable
  • Comfortable
  • Dries Quickly
  • Good Fit
  • Good Padding
Cons
Uses
  • Long Rides
  • Road Biking
  • Warm Weather
  • Waist: Feels true to size
  • Length: Feels true to length

short life span

(Avid Cyclist) June 10, 2014

The idea is great and finally sized for larger competitive cyclists in the Tri world. But like another reviewer, the seam quality is very poor. The flat lock seam on the waist popped when putting these on for the first time, even though the fit/compression was spot on. That seam has continued to unravel (hand washing only, line dry) over the 1 month I've had them. I couldn't return since my first sprint tri is a week away. Very expensive for a short that will likely last less than 2 months with 1x weekly wear. So disappointed in this product. I am usually a Louis Garneau fan, but the sizing for their Tri products does not extend to Plus sizing. Back to the drawing board for Tri wear.

Pros
  • Breathable
  • Comfortable
  • Dries Quickly
Cons
  • Weak Seams
Uses
  • Sprint Triathlon
  • Wet Weather
  • Waist: Feels true to size
  • Length: Feels true to length

Nice Short

(Avid Cyclist) May 30, 2014

This short fits great. I ordered a size larger than I normally wear per the recommendations as I hate tight clothes. Had I wanted more compression,I could wear a size smaller. The seam quality is poor. The seam that holds the leg seam in place unraveled as I was trying the short on when I received it and the other leg unraveled the first time I wore the shorts. While I was able to use them and could not return as I needed them for an event, for the price the seams should be of much better quality. The padding is thin, but it is what I need in a tri short and dried quickly. I would not buy these for everyday cycling shorts.

Pros
  • Comfortable
  • Dries Quickly
  • Good Fit
Cons
  • Weak Seams
