Nirvana Short

#SB-3003-0BK-XL
$64.95
#SB-3003-0BK-XL

Perfect for the gym, indoor cycling class or a ride around the neighborhood, shebeest’s Nirvana short offers a minimal chamois for lower mileage. The flattering, stylish crossover waistband relieves pressure on the abdomen while in the riding position. The waist and hem are gripperless so these shorts will feel like a second skin, hence the name, Nirvana.

Love these shorts!

(Avid Cyclist) June 24, 2014

I was looking for comfortable biking shorts and found them. The legs don't ride up, roll, or pinch your thighs. They have adequate padding for our 30 mile rides, but they don't look like you're wearing a big diaper. After receiving my initial order and giving them a try, I immediately purchased a second pair.

Pros
  • Comfortable
  • Good Fit
  • Good Padding

  • Road Biking
  • Waist: Feels true to size

My #1 Go To Bike Short

(Avid Cyclist) September 2, 2013

These are my #1 go to bike shorts! The Nirvana is a truly heavenly short - no pinch waist, delightfully breathable fabric, just the right amount of padding, and perfect mid-thigh length. They are more than a spin short or a toodle around town short - I've worn them for century rides and extended week-long touring and have never regretted it. They are so comfortable you'll forget you're even wearing them:) Plus when you get off the bike, these short flatter your figure (i.e. no diaper butt, cinched waist, or thigh grippers).

Pros
  • Dries Quickly
  • Good Fit
  • Flattering
  • Breathable
  • Durable
  • Comfortable
  • Good Padding
Cons
Uses
  • Road Biking
  • Mountain Biking

Best shorts ever

(Casual/ Recreational) December 26, 2012

I bought a pair of these at the beginning of 2011 when I was just getting into spinning/triathlon training. After trying half a dozen tri-shorts over the past two seaons, these are hands down my favorite pair. Even though they're now too big on me, I'm clinging to them for dear life until I can find them in stock again. PLEASE bring these back! I've worn them for 6 triathlons over the past few years, even though they're not a "tri short". They performed perfectly. Comfortable up to 30 miles (haven't ridden further in them yet). They're form fitting without trying to be "compression" shorts, which frankly don't work on someone like me who has a little extra "fluffiness" on the bottom. The v-cut waistband is the best thing in the world- the shorts stay in place without constriction. In a perfect world, they'd have pockets on the outer thigh, but that would just be gilding the lily.

Pros
  • Good Fit
  • Good Padding
  • Comfortable
  • Durable
Cons
Uses
  • Waist: Feels true to size
  • Length: Feels true to length

Great shorts

(Avid Cyclist) September 25, 2012

I have used these shorts for 3 years now and love them! The material holds up well to laundering. The seams have held up well.
I just completed a 50 mile bike ride and they were great. I bike an average of 75 or more miles per week
I love the waist line that is not to tight and the length is wonderful and I especially like the absence of leg bands, the legs stay in place without them and are so comfortable.

Just wish they had some pattern or brighter colors.

Nice

(Casual/ Recreational) July 30, 2011

Very comfortable, nice shorts for days when I want to have a thinner chamois than my PI pair.

The length is great and while they look good on their own, they virtually disappear when wearing them under a pair of capris on a casual ride downtown for a day of shopping.

Perfect short even for century rides!

(Avid Cyclist) June 6, 2011

Seams aren't thick, but they have held up over 1200 miles of wear last season. I bought 3 more pair, and refuse to wear any more of those bulky padded diaper shorts. Have referred other friends who ride quite a bit-they agree, these shorts are phenomenal!

Totally love these

(Avid Cyclist) September 9, 2010

Yes, it's true, even when we're in great shape, not all of us have slender thighs. Why the leg bands on cycling shorts MUST be so tight, I've never figured out. Less tight would do the job for everyone, I bet. Anyway, these shorts are nirvana for that reason alone. The leg bands are gripless and much more forgiving in the thighs than any other cycling shorts or tri suits I own. Other than that, they fit great in general, are maybe even flattering. Other reviewers have wished for more padding, and I see that, these are probably not long distance shorts. But for most of my riding, they're fine, and I'm ordering another pair.

My favorite short

(Avid Cyclist) April 10, 2010

I'm a beginning triathlete and was nervous about how sore my behind was going to be on the bike. I have tri shorts and a pair of the Nirvanas. I absolutely love the Nirvanas. I haven't put a ton of miles in yet, but the other day I did a 34 mile ride and felt great afterwards. Plus, I love the comfort of no leg grippers. The shorts stay in place for me just fine. Size wise: I'm 5'9" and typically wear a 6/8. I decided to order a large and am very happy I did.

Great Shorts!

(Avid Cyclist) September 25, 2009

I love these bike shorts. I am always looking for bike shorts with no leg grippers but they're so hard to find. Plus I love the yoga V waist. It's much more comfortable. These are great for short rides, although I've worn them for long rides too and I was fine. I wish they made this same exact short in a navy blue color. A capri version would be nice too! Anyway, great product and I would highly recommend!

Nirvana here we come

(Avid Cyclist) September 22, 2009

I am an avid cyclist-typical ride is 25-30 miles (2-3x per wk). I always have a problem with shorts because my thighs are on the large side for my figure. I own other bike shorts. The moment I tried on the Nirvana short I was hooked. Finally a graceful looking bike short. It starts with the waist which dips down in a "V" shape in front (not below navel) and fits higher in the back. The fabric is a very comfortable lycra which doesn't chafe. The short hugs my thighs without that awful pinched in look. And they wash well.

Only drawback is that the Nirvana is not as padded as my uglier shorts so not as great for 25+ mile rides. They don't dry quickly as far as I can tell. But they're still the first short I grab for when I'm going on the long rides because they're so darned comfortable thus the 5 star review.

Pros
  • Breathable
  • Comfortable
  • Great Fit
Cons
  • Not Enough Padding

  • Road Biking
  • Warm Weather
  • Waist: Feels true to size
  • Length: Feels true to length

Great!

(Competitive Cyclist) August 21, 2009

These were surprisingly wonderful - I expected them to feel more "cheap", since I find other Shebeest shorts (SSS) to feel not that high-quality, even though they're my go-tos due to the chamois, but when I was looking for a pair of shorts for spin/short distance, these were the clear winner - the chamois isn't something I'd wear for long distances, but the fabric is really, really nice and comfy, and the chamois is actually pretty supportive. Thumbs up!
