Comfort and performance for long rides!

(Casual/ Recreational) October 13, 2014

Size large was a true fit for my 5'9", 160lb medium frame. Was looking for a memory foam insert to cushion all the parts for my training for an upcoming 6 day bike trip and this exceeded my expectations! Leg elastic non-binding; overall comfy and supportive! I got 2 of them!

Great shorts! Had to buy 2nd pair!

(Avid Athlete) October 8, 2014

I was looking for good quality bike shorts with a chamois that would be comfy for a 100 mile ride, AND not have a leg gripper that gave "the sausage " look. I found all that in these shorts! True to size, nice long inseam, sits just about at the waist; pretty darn near perfect! After a few weekend rides I knew I had to have a second pair. A bike short like this does NOT come along every day!

Big Winner

(Avid Athlete) October 1, 2014

These shorts are really comfortable and supportive. The chamois is not too thick but still very cushion-ee and sits right where I want it to. I like the length of the legs and the fact that there isn't a wide band at the bottom that causes bulging in the inner thighs like some other shorts. I am an avid cyclist and ride almost everyday either road or mountain so I have a lot of shorts. These are my favorite right now.

Absolutely the best bike shorts ever!

(Avid Athlete) September 25, 2014

I bought two pair and consider the dollars some of the best investment in comfort and performance. These are definitely the very best cycling shorts I've owned...and I've owned quite a few pairs. Short rides to farmer's market, or longer rides on my road bike. Bought them to use for touring this next spring. Can't wait.

Service comments: Prompt delivery, great service. Thanks Team Estrogen!

Love these shorts!

(Avid Athlete) September 19, 2014

These are great for long distance touring. My old ones finally wore out after at least 8,000 miles. I like the fact that the new ones have just a little longer legs than my old ones...less sun exposure and just as comfortable.

Nice for 100 miles or more.

(Avid Athlete) August 13, 2014

I bought these specifically to train for and use on a century ride. They worked out great, no soreness or discomfort after 100 miles. They have a very padded liner which works for what it is intended, but takes a while to dry out after washing. Don't expect these to hang dry overnight. Get two pair if you are expecting to need that much padding every day. Also, the back zippered pocket is a nice extra.

The Best Cycle Shorts

(Gym Rat) June 16, 2014

I had ordered these for long ride training leading up to a 208 mile ride (217 in the end!) in one day! They felt really good during my weekend Century rides that I ordered two additional pairs for the big day (for changing). They were great! Padding is extra thick! Absolutely no issues! I highly recommend.

Just love it

(Avid Athlete) May 30, 2014

That bike short is by far the best I never got. Last version of the century short had problem with the elastic waist band that was to tight (to fit ok, I had to buy large but the short was too loose)but they replaced it by a large waist band that just fit perfect. Very comfortable padding with no friction spot. I usually develop sores with every other bike short that I tried. I'am doing century and the short is confortable for all the ride. Just love it

The best shorts ever, really

(Avid Athlete) May 22, 2014

I've been an avid cyclist for over 20 years and have tried many different brands of shorts. These truly are the best I've found. Everything about them is spot on: fit, length, construction, chamois. The one nit I have is that the chamois is a bit on the thick side, but not uncomfortably so. Even though these shorts are a bit pricey, they're still a great value.

Nice compression but snags

(Avid Athlete) September 12, 2013

I like the added support from these shorts. I have worn them on several long rides, including century rides and will wear them again. I may buy a second pair. I got a small, and they seem a bit tight at first but only because I measured at the high end of small. The fit is actually perfect when riding and the chamois is supportive without being overly large. 300+miles and not breaking down. Only drawback is the fabric can snag. My jersey zipper had exposed plastic, which rubbed on the century. The side also snagged when a had a minor fall on rough asphalt. I just caution to make sure to pair with high quality jersey. They have been nice on rainy rides in Smokies and hot rides, breathe excellently and dry quickly.

2nd pair bought

(Avid Athlete) August 6, 2013

I now have 2 pairs of these shorts. I've tried many brands of shorts, and these are the only ones that have a chamois that is comfortable. Incidentally, I also tried the shebeest shelastic chamois shorts, but that chamois rubs the leg creases. I'm trying to sell them, along with pearl izumi bottoms. Also, the pocket on the Century Elite is handy for a small wallet or key. My big wish is that they would make the same chamois in knickers or tights.

Great comfort, but fragile fabric!

(Avid Athlete) June 24, 2013

I loved my first ride with these shorts. Eight to ten miles of night riding. Then I rode in them this weekend on my first double century. These shorts were so comfortable!! However, 15 hours of saddle time on a mostly flat course pilled and tore the fabric in the crotch area. Probably from rubbing against my saddle, which has exteriorized seams that contact the inner thigh area. So bummed! I think I need a different saddle. I would recommend these shorts with the caveat that you have a seamless saddle.

Century Elite Short

(Avid Athlete) June 18, 2013

I bought these shorts because I was very pleased with the fit of a previous pair and loved the fabric. The new pair fits even a bit better; just a bit looser and longer. Unfortunately the placement of the pad is also just a little different and is not in quite the right place; just a little too far back.

I want to like these more

(Avid Athlete) June 11, 2013

These shorts are longer and hit closer to my knees than mid-thigh. The carbon flash element of the shorts makes them slightly itchy. I used these on my 16-miles-each-way bike commute and they didn't perform any better than my non-long-distance shorts (i.e., I'm not sure I would ride a century in these). Which is really a bummer - I had high hopes for these shorts.

Best shorts - hard to find

(Avid Athlete) June 2, 2013

I went back and forth on ordering these - the reviews were great (and spot on), but the price was high. After my first 109 Century ride yesterday, I am SO happy I spent the money on them. I would spend double the amount.

FIT- the XS fits great. I'm a size 2 with narrow hips. Other shorts feel big and diaperish on me. The panels are perfect and the chamois is very padded, but constructed in a way that fits close to the body and doesn't bulge out.

RIDE - After feeling great putting them on, I got onto the bike and was astounded at the feeling. No discomfort and felt like I was riding on a cloud. Did 30+ miles and 20+ the next day without any type of pain. During the century, my saddle was the last thing I was worried about - no pain day after!

CONSTRUCTION - very solid and good quality. No idea why there's a drawstring on these shorts. They fit really snug so I can't imagine anyone needing this. I pulled it out and it's now flat and seamless at the waist (the way it should be!). Pocket in back fits a modern cellphone - amazing!

If you're biking over 50+ miles buy these shorts! Your lady parts will thank you.

The Beest!

(Competitive Athlete) May 22, 2012

I just started training for a 70 mile bike ride and all the other shorts I bought fell "short". I hated to spend more money on more shorts but these are the BEEST! I wore these to ride 60 miles on the weekend, GREAT! Then today I wore some others I have for just a 20 mile ride, I could tell a huge difference! I love these shorts and now seeing them on sale and my size out of stock, I hope they aren't going to quit carrying them!

The Best Serious Mileage Short Ever!

(Competitive Athlete) January 17, 2012

This is the most comfortable cycling short I have owned - and I've tried most of the well-known and respected brands. it is the short I've always been looking for and hoped to find and the only one to which I've given 5 stars. The name is apt - it is great for long distance events and training and for racing, as it is particularly good for providing cushioning when you are spending lots of time on the drops. The material is great - it gives good support, is light in weight and has stylish good looks. I usually take a Medium size but Renata advised a Small which is a great fit. I'm 5'5" tall and the leg length is just right. Another nice little touch my other shorts don't have is the zippered pocket which is more useful than I'd ever have thought.

Almost a 5 Star Short

(Avid Athlete) December 1, 2011

I would have rated these shorts a perfect five except for 3 things.1. The tie at the waist which is unnecessary, uncomfortable and leaves a red mark on my belly.2. Zipper pocket in the back creates a nice little sweat patch on my back. Last pair of Shebeest's I bought had a vented area there that allowed anyone riding behind me to see my butt crack. Why can't Shebeest just leave the back of the shorts alone?3. [$], ouch!Having siad that, they are still more comfortable than my Pearl Izumi's, they fit perfectly and provide great comfort during long bike rides.

Great shorts for long rides

(Avid Athlete) October 31, 2011

Got two pairs to wear at Paris Brest Paris ride (750 miles in 4 days). No sores this time. 8 years ago on the same ride. Seat area looked like hamburger. The pad is dark grey. Pads that are light blue, pink, light green, YELLOW are not attractive when trying to dry your shorts on trips. I hope manufactures will understand this fact someday soon.

a lot of padding

(Avid Athlete) October 31, 2011

I own a lot of cyclying shorts and if you are looking for a product with a lot of padding then this is it. I went down a size(M)as my measurements were in between but I like my shorts firm on my legs (and I don't have small legs). Compared to my other shorts the waist is a little low but its ok. If you are doing duatalons I wouldn't reccommed running in these shorts only because there would be too much padding. The other thing that I liked about these shorts is the inseam of the chamois runs down the leg a little so you don't get any rubbing.

Women's Century Elite Cycling Short

October 29, 2011

Good for long rides; fabric wicks well and padding is comfortable. My older legs like the supportive fabric, but would prefer to have the shorts an inch longer. Removed the unnecessary drawstring for more comfort. Runs a bit smaller than the previous Century short. Padding that dries faster would be better for multi-day tours.

After many years of riding, developed a nagging issue with saddle sores while training for a century, which was solved with these shorts. Awesome shorts

(Gym Rat) July 12, 2011

These are the best shorts yet. Previously, I bought another pair of SheBeest two years ago and love them and decided to splurge for the century version. I couldn't be happier. Great chamois and the wicking material works wonderfully. I took them right out of the box for a metric century ride. I was a little concerned having not tried them out first but they made the ride a lot more enjoyable. Definitely the best "long time in the saddle" short I have tried.

My lady parts love these shorts!

(Casual/ Recreational) June 3, 2011

I've been training for (and completed!) my first Century and I couldn't have done it without these shorts! Once I worked up to 50 mile rides, my lady parts were hurting for days afterward and I considered giving up my goal to do the Santa Fe Century to avoid the intense pain. Fortunately, I decided to spend a big chunk of change on the Shebeest Century Elite shorts and I was able to keep riding. It was the best [$] I've ever spent! My lady parts (and boyfriend) say "thank you" to Shebeest!

Fantastic it's back! even better

(Avid Athlete) May 13, 2011

I'm so pleased that the Century Elite short is here. If you liked the Shebeest Ultra D short, this one has an almost identical high density chamois (a bit thicker than the shelastic). I have 2 prs of the earlier model which have lasted for 4 years with lots of use and were the 'only short' I wanted to ride in by the end of long distance multi day bike tours. The fabric is slick and firm giving a soft compressive feel a bit like the Sugoi RS. My only improvement request would be for a wider waist panel rather than elastic.. but maybe next year.
