Most cycling shoes are designed to be vented to keep your feet cool, so they don't make the seasonal transition well (with the exception of winter cycling boots, which can be pretty pricey). Add a pair of AmFIB shoe covers to your wardrobe, and just slip them on before your cool weather ride. They'll keep the cold and wet off your feet, and your toes toasty. Wear them with a pair of AmFIB gloves so all of your extremities stay intact.
