Renata says: I was looking for a firm and supportive short for long rides, and this one is one of my top choices. The fabric feels strong and sturdy, without being too constricting, diminishing any imperfections I may have had around my abdominal area. The front waistband is especially nice, with a sturdy panel instead of elastic so I can breathe easier (yea, especially on those 6+% climbs). The leg bands are nice and wide, snug, but not constricting, with some silicone accents to keep the shorts in place. Thank goodness for that pad on long rides! This is no wimpy short, it's a solid winner!

Comfortable short for long rides

(Avid Cyclist) July 15, 2015

These shorts are great if you like lots of support from your bike shorts. I usually wear a small in Pearls, but the medium fits well, as they are quite compressive. Very comfortable for long saddle time, and don't get soggy in hot weather. Chamois is right size for a smaller bum. They are a little shorter than I would prefer, but overall very satisfied.

Does the job, but size up

(Avid Cyclist) June 19, 2015

The size was right because I sized up based on all the comments I've seen on these shorts. I normally wear XS in Pearl Izumi and got a Small. It's a little bit of a struggle to pull them up past my hips, but once I've got them on, they feel good. Rode 70 miles with >6000' elev climb in 70-80F humid weather without any noticeable discomfort, which is a good thing. No pressure marks afterwards from the grippers or waist band. After handwashing, it was completely dry in less than 24h (squeezed not wrung). Would buy again. May try it on a century ride. I would personally prefer a cushier chamois, but this one works fine.

Great, except for the scratching tags

(Avid Cyclist) November 3, 2014

These shorts are very comfortable, except for the label & washing instructions tags which are sewn mid-way down the seam which runs from the waistband along the padding to the crotch area. They are made of a very scratchy fabric. Even after washing, they're still scratchy. So I cut them out -- even the tag that says "Please do not remove."

Given the waistband construction, I realize the difficulty in locating a place to put these tags. But making the tags from a different material could certainly have helped.

All black short in a flattering length

(Avid Cyclist) October 29, 2014

I liked these so much I bought a second pair. Very flattering compression short in a perfect 8" length. I'm 5'1" and a age where I don't like shorts that are to short. These are perfect length to be flattering without showing to much thigh. The leg bands are improved. The fabric is breathable for hot weather but we didn't have any this summer so I can't comment. The logo is not readily visible making the short very clean looking. The waist is banded and looser to make it more comfortable on the tummy. I have a smaller waist and this is not as appealing to me, but I can see how others would like this feature.

Serious technical compression short

(Avid Cyclist) August 8, 2014

These are compression shorts in the hips and thighs. They are really going to hold your muscles tightly, so be ready, that's what they are supposed to do. I can wear a small but bought a medium since they are so expensive, I was afraid I'd gain weight and they wouldn't fit. The mediums fit nicely in the hips and thighs. I got a few compliments. The leg band are a nice improvement to elastic. The waist is not compressive on these shorts. The fabric is thinner and premium quality. Despite it thinner knit it did not tear when I took a spill on them a few weeks ago. A top quality short if you are willing to spend this much. I would buy a second pair, but may have to save up a bit.

Way too small

(Avid Cyclist) May 28, 2014

Much too small for me, and I ordered the size that I wear in other PI shorts and capris.

I'm returning them--didn't ride and can't comment on other qualities.

Hoping for more consistent sizing in the future.
