Breathable and comfortable!

(Avid Cyclist) January 18, 2013

These shorts are brilliant! They were extremely comfy from the very 1st ride meaning no "soft tissue issues". As mentioned above they are quite a big fit - unusal for Pearl so I could have got away with the size down. The breathable vents are great for helping to keep cool. The downside to these pants are the adjustable waist velcro that always attaches to my shirt so I've folded it inside the waistband for the meantime.

Pros
  • Breathable
  • Good Pockets
  • Comfortable
  • Good Fit
  • Dries Quickly
  • Good Padding
  • Durable
Cons
  • The Velcro Tabs Catch
Uses
  • Wet Weather
  • Warm Weather
  • Long Rides
  • Mountain Biking
  • Waist: Feels too big
  • Length: Feels true to length

Meh

(Avid Cyclist) November 20, 2012

I returned these. The liner was completely unhelpful - the same spots that were tender without any liner whatsoever were equally sore with this liner. I think the problem is that it's just too small - not enough area to provide a cushion where body actually meets bike seat.

The shorts themselves are OK - I think they'd be comfortable, not binding.

On sizing - I'm 5'5" and 130#. I ordered medium bc I think PI tends to run small. But small would have been a better choice, esp in the waist which was pretty big on me and I don't have a tiny waist.

Service comments: Prompt shipment arrived in good condition.

Love it!

(Casual/ Recreational) June 8, 2012

Mountain Biking, of course! Love Pear Izumi stuff! From the way it feels, it looks and its performance. Makes me want to go out on the trails just to put them on! They run a little bit big. I wished I got a size smaller because the shorts themselves have velcro tabs that can adjust.

Very Comfortable Bike Shorts!

(Casual/ Recreational) March 29, 2012

Padding is very good. I ride about 20 miles maximum and these shorts provide a great cushion. The only complaint I have is there are velcro straps on the side of the waistband to tighten up the waist. The velcro is not very strong and the straps come loose and the velcro attaches to my jersey. Other than that, great shorts. Pearl Izumi makes that best bike short padding for my taste.

Pros
  • Breathable
  • Good Fit
  • Good Padding
  • Comfortable

Cons
  • Velcro straps on waist

Beautiful and Lightweight

(Avid Cyclist) August 29, 2011

Use mostly for mountain biking, although the short has an elegant look which I really like and can be worn around town - I don't care for the "baggy pockets" look of so many mountain bike shorts.

Pros
  • Breathable
  • Good Fit
  • Good Pockets
  • Durable
  • Great for hot weather
  • Dries Quickly
  • Comfortable
Cons
  • Used my own skins
  • Too Much Padding
Uses
