Great under cycling shorts!

(Avid Cyclist) November 29, 2012

Finally! A short that is snug and does not chafe, breathable and very very comfy! I love these and under other gel shorts help my behind on long ride. These have little loops to help pull up and I really am happy with them. I cannot think of a thing that is a con about them. I am a voracious cyclist and these fit the bill. I try to ride 4-5 days a week. Good Job!!

Pearl Izumi liner short

(Casual/ Recreational) September 4, 2012

I purchased these shorts to wear under skirts for road and casual biking. I found the waistband soft and comfortable, the mesh very breathable, and the leg grippers to stay put without squeezing my thighs. For me, the rise on these shorts is very high, which made them slightly uncomfortable after a few hours in the saddle. I ended up rolling the waistband down as a compromise. The padding is quite thick, which is nice, but the chamois was a bit wide for me and caused some chafing. For reference sake, I am about 120 pounds with a 26 inch waist and 37 inch hips and purchased a size medium (I normally wear a small) and they fit well (other than the rise and wide chamois). I still think they are a good pair of liner shorts and am pleased with my purchase.

Pros
  • Dries Quickly
  • Breathable
Cons
  • Chafes

Very good chamois

(Avid Cyclist) June 9, 2012

Wore this second day of 2 day, 125 mile trip. Second day was about 75 miles and I had no problems with chaffing. They were comfortable under my shorts on a ride lasting 9-5 and are going on a multiday ride coming up. Very happy with them.

Good liner; runs small

(Avid Cyclist) February 6, 2012

I am quite little at 5'2," 107 lbs., 23-inch waist and these liner shorts fit me in a size small, whereas Elite Series Pearl Izumi tights I've purchased before in an XS fit me just fine. Though they fit me perfectly, for a more normal-sized female they will probably run small.

On the other hand it is a great liner, good chamois, and the meshy shorts material is discreet, breathes easily, and has two handy little tabs on the waist to help pull them on/off. They are true to form with other Pearl Izumi products I've bought in the past: always great design and quality.

Pros
  • Comfortable
  • Breathable

  • Dries Quickly
Cons

  • Road Biking
  • Commuting
  • Waist: Feels too small
  • Length: Feels too short

Great short, but run small

(Avid Cyclist) May 9, 2011

Got these as my I left my favorite bike liners in Arizona and needed them for a white rim trip. I ordered a small which I have in other bike liners and they were too small. I had to send them back for a medium. I am usually a size 4 and small in products. I got a couple pairs and wore them on 2 long days on white rim and they were great, comfortable, no chaffing. they probably are a little more padded than I usually like, but for long days in the saddle they were perfect.

Good option to expand cycling clothes

(Avid Cyclist) April 20, 2011

I needed a padded undergarment due to the fact that I am also a runner and have several pairs of tights without padding, but wanted to save money and be able to use them for cycling. These liners definitely fit the bill, although I would have liked the pad to be a little thicker. My cycling shorts have thicker pads so I was expecting something like that. Still, they are really allowing me to expand my cycling gear by using non-padded capris and tights when I ride.

Pros
  • Comfortable
  • Good Fit
Cons
  • Not Enough Padding
Uses
  • Long Rides
  • Road Biking
  • Waist: Feels true to size
  • Length: Feels true to length
