Other Reviews were not correct

March 28, 2013

I bought these after read several reviews on several different shorts. I am very dissatisfied with the padding. All the reviews claimed there was plenty of padding. I use them for power cycling classes and they don't have enough.

Pros
  • Good Fit
Cons
  • Not Enough Padding
Uses
  • Very short rides
  • Waist: Feels true to size

Initial impressions...

(Casual/ Recreational) February 2, 2013

I already own 2 pairs of PI shorts, one Quest and 1 Sugar. The chamois in the Quest shorts are much better than those in the Sugar, but I prefer the length of the Sugar shorts, so I bought these new ones, hoping that maybe the padding had been increased. I haven't taken them on the road yet, but I can already tell a difference in sizing--I fit into a Medium in my Quest and Sugar shorts, but I think with this new version of Sugar I could easily fit into a Small. DON'T ORDER A SIZE UP!

great fit, great price, short legs!

(Avid Cyclist) August 28, 2012

I am a 5'4" woman with muscular legs. I find short inseam shorts keep me more comfortable. My short frame just looks better with the shorter leg on shorts. Yes, I'm vain enough to want to look good when I go hammering by other cyclist on the road :o) Long inseam shorts give me the appearance of having no legs between ankles and knee. I LOVE these shorts. They fit great, look great, have a variety of colour accents. I prefer the mainly black colour (no see through bums going on). I can't say enough about these - I bought 3, will be buying more for backup - cause they are affordable!

Love The Shorts - Don't Like the Chamois

(Avid Cyclist) July 24, 2012

I love the fit, comfort and length of legs. What I don't like is the chamois seems to fold up and into my private area and gets very uncomfortable (the chamois seems to be too wide.) I am 5'3" and weigh 115 and bought a small - I love the short so much otherwise that I'm wondering if an extra small would fit better.

Pros
  • Dries Quickly
  • Breathable
  • Comfortable
Cons
  • Poor Fit

Girl Shorts

(Casual/ Recreational) July 21, 2012

I like the shorter length, like that it's not too tight in the leg, but do find it rides up a bit. I find it really comfortable to ride in and just pull the leg down when I stop. I do like the lower cut in the waist, enjoy the non-restrictive fit all around, I suppose. Benefits outweigh the downside...which is minimal. I do have slender legs, so may not be a problem for others. Also like not having low tan lines on legs. It's a great short.

Flattering, but not my faves

(Avid Cyclist) June 24, 2012

These are by far the most flattering bike shorts I own. But, function trumps form when it comes to comfort on the bike. I've worn these for 3 or 4 road rides, and there are 2 specific things I don't love about them. One is that the fabric does not have enough lycra in it (I prefer a more compressed fit). The other is the padding. Pearl Izumi skimped on the padding, in my opinion. These shorts may be good for a spinning class or an exercise bike in the gym, but they are just not cutting it for me on the road.

  • Good Fit

  • Not Enough Padding

Perfect for rides < 30 miles, no more!

(Avid Cyclist) June 12, 2012

Love the shorter length, stays put, but comfort definitely disappears once you exceed 25-30 miles in the seat due to insufficient padding.

Cons

Great cycling shorts

(Casual/ Recreational) June 10, 2012

I'm pretty new to cycling and these are my first pair of real cycling shorts. I bought medium because I was worried about whether or not my butt would fit into a small (I normally wear small for street clothes, I'm 5'3", 124 lbs). I think I could fit into a small without a problem, but the mediums don't seem too big either.
I normally do pretty short rides (not more than an hour) so these keep me comfortable. Haven't tried them out yet on a long ride. But so far I am pleased with my purchase.

  • Comfortable
  • Good Padding

  • Waist: Feels true to size

Great Cycle Short!!

(Avid Cyclist) May 24, 2012

I'm amazed how well they provide comfort on rides 30 miles or less, I'm looking forward to 50-150 miles in August. I love that they are shorter than normal. I'll order the pink/black this month since I can't find anything better in the stores. Good quality for the money!

Cute, Fun, Flirty and Fab

Sizing larger than expected.

(Avid Cyclist) April 11, 2012

According to the sizing chart, the XS should have fit me perfectly. Unfortunately they feel loose all over, but particularly around the thigh, so they tend to ride up despite the leg grippers.

Poor sizing

(Avid Cyclist) August 31, 2011

Loved the look, and the length of this cycling short...ordered an XS but needed a size smaller. Even though the short is a tad too big, the short itself functions very well with adequate padding for a couple of hours in the saddle.

shorts

(Avid Cyclist) July 20, 2011

I do long distance riding, often in the heat. Shorts run very big. The seams have rubbed my legs raw. They get soggy which complicates the raw flesh. I am so disappointed, it is a waste of money and now they sit and I cant afford to replace them, I am riding in spandex shorts, no bike shorts. This is not a good product. Oh, they also take forever to dry when you wash them, can not be hand washed on a trip and worn the next morning. DO NOT BUY THESE SHORTS.

Good for 1 to 2 hour rides

(Avid Cyclist) May 13, 2010

I am a fan of this short for shorter rides when it is not real hot out. The chamois is very comfortable and wicking but does not stay very dry so if you sweat a lot, I will gaurantee it will be sopping wet at the end of a hard workout. However- the chamois material is almost silky so chafing is rarely a problem especially if you use chamois butter. I have not tried it for anything longer than 2 hours.

Cons
