A common complaint we hear from women shopping for wetsuits: Larger doesn't always mean taller! (Though, wouldn't it be nice if when we overeat, we got taller instead of wider?) At our request, Nineteen Wetsuits created new sizes to address this issue. Large Petite and Extra-Large Petite are now available in the Pipeline Fullsleeve Wetsuit! These sizes will fit women 5"6" and under, up to 200 pounds.

need more fabric or smaller chest

(Avid Athlete) May 30, 2013

Really wanted this to fit. I am 5'4" and 180lbs with D cup chest. According to the sizing info, I am in the middle of the size range for the wxlp.
the bottom went on, but once i got my arms in there was no room to even lift my arms, never mind swim in it. the body seemed too short.
disappointed.
the fabric was pretty cool though

Pros
  • Luxurious Spongy Fabric
Cons
  • Not Long Enough Wxlp
  • Poor Fit
Uses
  • Triathalon
  • Open water swim
  • Sizing: Feels full size too small

still not petite enough in length

December 5, 2012

I bought this wet suit in a size Large Petite. I am 5'2.5" and weigh 145, waist is 28", chest 36DD. (not your typical swimmers' build, lol) I got it on with some tugging and its actually comfortable but there wasn't enough room left in the shoulders to raise my arms... i.e. I couldn't possible swim in it. Also in the pics the suit seems to be capri length but the legs came down to my ankles and touched the top of my foot... that wouldn't really have been an issue if i had full range of motion up top. Im going to exchange it for a petite XL and see if that fits. All in all its a great quality and felt soft and not rubbery and i wish it would have fit correctly!
oh, it's also pretty thick. I bought it for open water here in FL in winter and we are running about 60 degrees right now.. it might be on the verge of being too warm..i think the torso is 5mm... just fyi.

Pros
  • Easily Comes Off
  • Comfortable
  • Stylish
  • Graphics Look Good
  • Quality Neoprene
Cons
  • high neck
  • Restricts Movement
  • No Shoulder Room
  • Runs Long Even In Petite
Uses
  • Sizing: Feels half size too small

A bit like the Tardis!

(Avid Athlete) August 28, 2012

I am a short and sturdily built gal who enjoys triathlons and adventure races. It seemed this was the perfect thing for me. I fitted neatly in the middle of the weight and height range for the petite XL. Was stunned when I unwrapped it because the waist was so small I wondered how my butt was ever going to go through it! Surprisingly it was a little like the Tardis - bigger inside than it looked (ie stretchy) and it went on and zipped up. Felt like a flat-chested sausage!

However, once I got used to feeling stuffed into it and took it for a swim, I was pleasantly surprised at how good it felt, how much faster I swam, and how cold I wasn't in its first adventure race outing. I love it.

That said, I am still wondering, given how "poured in" I felt, how somebody at the top of the suggested height and weight range would survive wearing it. I suspect it is just a little on the small side compared with the suggested sizing chart.

Great value for the price.

Pros
  • Height appropriate
  • Stylish
  • Waterproof
  • Comfortable
  • Lightweight
Cons
  • Smaller than expected
Uses

not true to size

(Avid Athlete) July 5, 2012

I bought it because you advertised that bigger doeasnt mean taller. Well at 200 pounds and 5 foot 3 this suit should have at least gone on. I could only get it up as high as my chest. It says it fits up to 5ft 5. not sure how seems to short. if you are advertising to bigger women you should make more room.

Pros
  • I like the way it feels
Cons
  • Not close to size
  • Poor Fit
Uses
  • Sizing: Feels full size too small

Womens pipeline full sleeve wetsuit

(Avid Athlete) April 20, 2012

Awesome wet suit. The only suit I have found built for my short and larger body type. Con is that it is a little tight at high end of weight range. Dropping a few pounds did the trick. Fared well at my first triathlon!!

Pros
  • Built for my body type
Cons
Uses
  • Sizing: Feels half size too small

Yay, a wet suit that fits

(Casual/ Recreational) September 7, 2011

Loved the suit. A nice low neck so it doesn't interfere with breathing, very flexible arms, and easy to get out fast (for T1). As warm as my thicker suit but more flexible. I love the fit, first time had a suit actually made to fit my shape.

Pros
  • Comfortable
  • Lightweight
Cons
Uses
  • Sizing: Feels true to size

thankful for the extended sizes!

(Avid Athlete) July 1, 2011

I started doing triathlons last year but did not buy a wetsuit, partly because I didn't think I would find one to fit. I am a size 10, so at only 5'2" tall, if I look on most wetsuit size charts, the size for my weight range would be for someone 6' tall. I was thrilled to see a wetsuit that comes in a large petite size. I fall perfectly into the weight and height ranges for this size. I got my suit yesterday and it fits like it was made for me.

Pros
  • Excellent fit
Cons
Uses
  • Open water swim
  • triathlon
  • Sizing: Feels true to size
