Michelle says: The 4Motion Chamois was absolutely comfortable. I did a 54mi race in these without chamois cream and after the race I had no issues of chafing, saddle sores, or tenderness. The bib portion was stable and I liked how the straps lay to the side of the breast and did not move! The leg openings are longer than I prefer but because they did not seems to ride up my leg like I thought they might I actually didn't pay much attention to it. I have fairly narrow thighs and for a size medium I thought the leg opening seemed more like a small.

Very comfortable LG Bib

(Avid Cyclist) July 19, 2013

I did a century ride in them and they were great. Good padding, not too much not too little. I'm 5'5" and 128 lbs, I ordered size large and they fit perfectly.
I do recommend them! To get 5 stars though, I would like to have an inch longer legs.

  • Good Fit

  • Good Padding
  • Durable

Terrific bib

(Avid Cyclist) July 17, 2012

The comments by other reviewers were correct. This is an excellent product. Superb wicking properties. The chamois is VERY comfortable--the best I have ever worn. The white bands on the legs were very different than the grippers I have in my regular cycling shorts, but they too were very comfortable. This is my first pair of bibs and I will probably never buy regular cycling shorts again.

  • Good Padding

Excellent bib shorts

(Avid Cyclist) December 19, 2011

I use these shorts for long rides - anything from 2 hours to 6 hours and they are fantastic. They are comfortable, they look good. I cannot fault them! At first, I was a little hesitant about the look of the white bands around the legs but I am used to them now. I just wish TE had the matching jersey to go with it. I ended up picking a Giordana jersey instead.

No squeezing!

(Avid Cyclist) August 31, 2011

This is my first pair of bibs, so I can't compare them to other bibs...But I can say that I won't go back to shorts if I can help it! These are so comfortable and I never realized how constrictive shorts are around the waist until I put these on. The shoulder straps lay neatly along my sides. I love that there are no leg grippers/chafing. Initially I worried that the chamois was too thick, but it's actually quite comfy and somehow less obtrusive (and less visible!) than the thinner ones in my other shorts. Wicking is great all around.

The *only* reason that I give these 4 stars instead of 5 is that I feel they may run a bit small in the thigh. I am 5'2", 130 lbs, proportionally heavier in the hip and thigh. Usually I buy a large short to be safe and to avoid sausage effect, and that's what I did here. I find these bibs to be a bit tighter than I expected and the seaming was slightly awkward there. But I'll stress that it's purely a cosmetic issue, and not even a big one...I was still perfectly comfortable even though I wish my thighs looked a little smoother.

So if you're between sizes, especially below the belt, I'd advise you to round up. That said, I would absolutely recommend these awesome, comfy bibs!

Fits like a glove!

(Avid Cyclist) August 3, 2011

Bought these bibs because I liked the fact there was not a band of gel to hold them to my thighs - loved them so much I bought a second pair for a week long cycling trip. If you need to show off your thighs you probably won't appreciate the style, but if you want a pefectly comfortable bib - this is it.

Great bibs, flattering.

Ahhhh-mazing!

(Avid Cyclist) May 23, 2011

The fit of these bibs is extraordinary. Other bibs cut in at the waist, have binding shoulder straps, or strange buckles that manufacturers think women need. These are no nonsense and well designed. I love the light fabric. Great for cool to hot weather, maybe not so good for cold weather riding. The pad isn't too much like a pillow, and the length is good enough to keep quads compressed and everything in place. I'd definitely recommend these, and will most likely buy another pair so I can rotate for multi-day events!

Note on inseam

(Avid Cyclist) February 2, 2011

An additional comment to my previous post. Out of curiosity, I measured the inseam length while wearing the bib shorts and the size small measures at 8" long, so the TE measurement is correct and the LG site is not. Just fwiw.

Outstanding bibs

(Avid Cyclist) January 27, 2011

These bibs are just amazing. I really don't have enough words to describe them. They're invisible on the bike, even the chamois which I was worried would be a bit stiff and bulky, completely blends into my body and movement. The legs stay in place without any unnecessary squeezing from the compression bands. The fabric is effortless, great wicking, feels like it's part of my skin. These bibs are everything I ever expected high-end cycling apparel to be.

As a side note, the LG website lists the inseam as 10.5", not 8" as in the TE description. Also, I tried these with leg warmers, just for fun, and I would recommend wearing these solo. The warmers felt awkward underneath and seemed to completely eliminate the benefits of the varying compression the leg fabric provides. Suffer through your winter ride with a different pair of shorts if leg warmers are required, imo.
