Great cold weather tights

(Casual/ Recreational) March 27, 2015

I bought these for a 40 mile ride. They were very comfortable and did keep my knees warm. The weather was sunny during this ride, but if it had been cloudy and drizzling I would have been very comfortable. I will use these for all my cold weather cycling. They only thing I did not like is they were to long. However, I am only 5 feet. It would be nice if they could make options for shorter people.

Pros
  • Comfortable
  • Good Support
  • Lightweight
  • Moisture Wicking
  • Soft
  • Warm
Cons
  • A Little To Long
Uses
  • road cycling
  • Fit: Feels true to size

Awesome winter tight

(Avid Athlete) January 19, 2015

This is a great tight. The waist is very comfortable. I got them for snowbiking - the front wind panels are great. I wear them under a soft-shell pant - only way I can stay warm on long, cold winter rides.

Pros
  • Comfortable
  • Good Support
  • Soft
  • Warm
Cons
Uses
  • Cold Weather
  • Fit: Feels true to size

Update - Performance Report

(Gym Rat) December 16, 2014

As promised, am back to give a performance report. The tights DO keep your knees and quads warm. The waistband stays put. I've worn them in 40+ degrees with wind and 50+ degrees and think that they might be a bit warm for the mid 50's, but that's a personal preference. Though I noted in my previous review that the tights are "tight fitting", I found them to be completely comfortable while riding and didn't impede movement in any way. I am TOTALLY satisfied with this product.

Pros
  • Comfortable
  • Good Support
  • Moisture Wicking
  • Soft
  • Warm
Cons
Uses
  • Cold Weather
  • Fit: Feels true to size

Kissed too many frogs-is this my Prince?

(Gym Rat) December 3, 2014

I have looked far and wide for tights that could stand up to wind and cold weather, around freezing temps. I have tried many brands, but they were either way too long, too snug, too loose, with bulky chamois that made we walk like a bow legged cowboy.
This LG Solano may fit the bill, but its been raining too much for a bike ride, so I write this w/o any miles on the road. BUT - I can tell you about the fit.
For you petite ladies out there, this may be the one for you. I barely reach 5' and it works for me without too much excess material at the ankles. The chamois is not ideal (my favorites are Pearl Izumi and Sugoi), but sure beats Castelli, Craft and SheBeest which I find too wide for me.
The material is SOFT and flexible, a true tight. I didn't want a tight with excess material around the knees for articulation. Speaking of tight, it is a snug fit, so keep this in mind when ordering. I normally wear a size S in this brand, and ordered same. I think a M would be too big. I like the fact that the waistband fits at the waist.
Hope this helps someone to find their "Prince of a tight" this Winter season!

Pros
  • Fits At The Waist
  • Good Support
  • Great Length For Petites
  • Snug Fit - Maybe Too Snug
  • Soft
  • Warm
Cons
  • Chamois A Bit Bulky
  • Snug fit
Uses
  • Cold Weather
  • Fit: Feels true to size

Uncomfortable

(Casual/ Recreational) September 29, 2012

Yes these tights are very warm, points for that. However, with the extra layer of fabric over the quad area, you're legs get sweaty on the under layer, which restricts the movement of the tights, which in turn pulls on your knees creating pain. I wouldn't buy these again. The thigh area of the tights just doesn't breathe at all.

Pros
  • Warm
Cons
  • Restricts Movement
Uses
  • Cold Weather
  • Cycling
  • Fit: Feels true to size
