best chamois!

(Quality Oriented) May 27, 2014

I have found these to be the most comfortable for long rides. I agree with other reviews, even though these are 8" inseam, they feel a bit short, and while the non-elastic leg bands are more comfortable, they ride up a bit and look binding/unflattering across that horizontal seam, but for the comfort in the saddle, I'll be buying more of these for a 7 day tour I have coming up.

Pros
  • Comfort At The Waist
  • Comfort In The Saddle
  • Lightweight
Cons
  • Legs Ride Up
Uses
  • Primary use: Personal

An okay bike short but has drawbacks

(Casual/ Recreational) January 4, 2012

The shorts are a good fit around the waist but the leg length is too short by approx 10cm so they are uncomfortable and also unflattering.
The chamois padding is quite firm and it sticks out behind so that it looks and feels very odd, uncomfortable and unflattering.

Pros
  • Dries Quickly
Cons
  • Chamois sticks out behind
  • Too Much Padding
  • Poor Fit
  • Leg length too short
Uses
  • Stationary cycle inside
  • Waist: Feels true to size
  • Length: Feels too short

Comfortable, Great for long rides

(Casual/ Recreational) March 28, 2011

The cycling shorts are a great fit with comfortable support. I like the 8" inseam with no leg grippers on my thighs. The wide waist band gives even support around my waist without to much pressure. The shorts are perfect for the 70 - 80 mile rides and the chamois provides great protection without to much bulk.

  • Durable
  • Good Fit

I hate these shorts!

(Avid Cyclist) April 19, 2010

I have always LOVED LG shorts. Until recently though I always bought the mens shorts. I bought these women specific shorts and I have to say this is the most uncomfortable chamois I have ever worn. It is huge and it bunches up in all the wrong places - plus it is textured so that when it does bunch it rubs those places like sand paper. I have tried to wear these shorts for shorter rides and/or mountain biking to no avail....they totally distroyed my crotch.

Plus, I think there is some sort of treatment (antibacterial?) on the chamois that I think I'm allergic to.

If you have ANY chamois issues - I don't recommend these shorts. Go with anything else LG makes that doesn't have THIS chamois. I love my others! The rest of the short fits well and it is very flattering - so if you are just gonna be standing around - this is the short for you!

Pros
  • Dries Quickly
  • Breathable
Cons
  • Too Much Padding
  • Poor Fit
  • Chafes

Great fitting shorts with just enough pad for long rides without the "wearing a diaper" feeling. The leg bands are awesome replacements for the old fashioned grippers.

  • Great Fit
Cons
  • Not Enough Pockets
