Sandy says: "Just wanted to give you a good word about the Louis Garneau Carbon Ion H-Flex shorts that I got last year. I got roped into the state tandem crit champs down here in Eugene (okay, it wasn't much of a roping, it sounded like a good idea at the time, and I "needed the speedwork" to get ready for Race Across Oregon...) - and we went down! Blew a tire doing about 28 in the middle of the pack, limited options. Managed to not involve anyone else, mainly negotiate the corner, and to not go over a tall curb...ended with a slow-speed wipeout to the non-drive side. To spare you the suspense - everyone was mainly okay. But - Peter's shorts were totally shredded, and he sustained quite a bit of road rash. He was grumping about losing a pair of $100 shorts. My Louis Garneau shorts were abraded, and the seam between the leg band and the main panel opened up, but they totally protected my skin (except for just a little bit where the seam opened). In truth, my shorts are even still wearable, though it's clear that they've been through something unusual.
