Shak Freestar Zip - CLOSEOUT

Anna says: Oh beloved merino wool, how you light up my path and put the wind in my sails! I do not even remember what I wore before you came along. The Shak Freestar totally rocks and I haven't taken it off since I got it. It has been camping and hiking on the coast, biking around the city, out to the bar, to the cafe for jazz music and lattes, to holiday parties, and back home to Minnesota to make snowmen, ice fish, and cross country ski. There are many features that are well done, I will start with what I noticed first - the thumbholes. They are truly intentional rather than just a slit in the side of an otherwise standard shirt wrist. They hug my hand in the most delightful way. Also, the arms are long enough to allow me to cycle or make snow angels while keeping my thumbs in the holes. I love the full zip because it offers so much temperature regulation. The breast pocket with a hidden zipper holds some essentials and has proven to be quite useful while remaining visually subtle. The contrast arm seam and clean lines demonstrates great attention to detail and the Ibex logo is small and tastefully placed on the upper back rather than in front. It also layers very well by being warm and hearty without being bulky. It's well designed, durable, versatile, and keeps up with me!
