The Kinvara 2 minimizes to maximize—performance, efficiency and response. The minimalist approach allows the foot to run uninhibited, delivering a natural yet lively ride for efficient runners everywhere. With swooping lines and a sleek profile, this shoe is very lightweight and flexible. A great addition to your running kit. The Kinvara 2 has material in the upper with a little less elasticity than the original Kinvara.

FIT NOTE: The Kinvara 2 is classified as a "natural running" shoe (also sometimes referred to as a "minimalist" shoe"). Natural running shoes have a smaller heel-to-toe drop (4mm for the Kinvara 2) than most traditional run shoes (which are typically 10-12mm). This difference puts your heel closer to the ground and stretches the Achilles tendon more than traditional running shoes. If you've never run in the Kinvara or other natural running shoe, we suggest slowly adding mileage while alternating with other training shoes. Adding mileage too quickly without the proper time to adapt can result in injury.

The Progrid Kinvara 2 received the 2011 Runner's World Best Buy Award in their Summer 2011 Running Shoe Guide.

Renata says: These shoes are so super light, it's amazing! I feel so much lighter and faster running in these shoes! I found the small heel to toe drop to be really noticeable. I am flexible, and I stretch my calves and hamstrings a lot, so I found myself transitioning with ease and speed, whereas the heels in other shoes always felt so big and bulky. I'm a neutral runner, so I don't need a support shoe, but I was careful, and I did take my time transitioning over to these shoes because they really have minimal support.

In the past, I had trouble with plantar fasciitis. To compensate, I tried running in more supportive shoes and I even used an orthotic insert. However , I found that the less structured the shoe was, the less my feet hurt! I admit, I don't put in a ton of miles, but I have not had any pain at all after switching to these shoes. This may not work for everyone, but it sure worked for me.

"So glad I bought them"

(Stylish) August 11, 2012

The ProGrid Kinvara are very light feeling and are not clunky feeling. Very comfortble for my workouts. The color combination with the grey and purple is great and not too bright.

This is MY shoe.

(Trendy) February 23, 2012

This are easily my favorite shoes. I stockpile them just in case they ever get discontinued. They also keep coming out in really cool colors, so I like to collect. I've transitioned from a Asic Kayano into these, which is a pretty drastic change in stability. I've had no issues, and because they are somewhat of a 'flat' I find my feet getting stronger. The fit is true to size, they're light and they're super comfy. I always tell fellow runners that it's like putting on a slipper! A great feeling. The Kinvara 2 is definitely more durable than the original one released. I really recommend this shoe to anyone who can handle running in something that does give a little less stability. It's my go-to everytime!

fabulous shoes!

(Stylish) December 30, 2011

i have been running in mizunos for the last year (wave elixir and wave inspire) and have been somewhat hesitant to try a lighter, more neutral shoe.
i tried this shoe on a few short runs, and they worked great!
they are extremely light and responsive.
doing intervals has become the most fun part of training these shoes make me fly.

Amazing

(Stylish) August 1, 2011

I used to run in the Progrid Omni. This time around, I wanted to try the Kinvara, and I have to say, these sneakers are absolutely amazing! I just ordered them online, and the sizing is consistent across the two models. In the Kinvara, the heel rests lower, which keeps my feet in their natural shape as I run. This allows me to comfortably (and effortlessly) land mid-foot, as opposed to heel-first. The traction is great, too; the sneakers grip well to the pavement, allowing for a nice easy push off. They offer just the right amount of cushioning; enough for comfort, but I am still very in tune with my feet, my stride, and the road. Word to the wise-- you might need to ease into them a bit. I spend a bit of time stretching my feet out after running in them. Bottom line, these sneakers are helping me experience my body and my running anew-- I highly recommend them!

Love this shoe!

(Comfort Driven) April 7, 2011

I too suffered terribly from Plantar Fascitis and instead of going the orthotic and build-up clod-hopper and perennially injured route, I went more minimalist and my feet thank me. I can run again, thanks to the patience of letting my feet heal and the natural position (insignificant heel to toe drop) of the Kinvara. This shoe is the greatest thing since sliced bread.
