Anona says: Surprise! It gets COLD in Portland! I decided I needed to re-vamp my winter wardrobe when it dropped below 20. I fell in love with the Fusion Thermal Jacket because the lipstick color is gorgeous, the lines are simple, it is well made, and it is WARM. As a Midwesterner, I know all too well how important it is to wear something that stops the wind, and Windstopper fabric really works. Here in Oregon there are hills, so I discovered that pit zips, smooth zippers and a bite grip (really!) also make a huge difference in my comfort because I can easily regulate my temperature as I climb and descend. With the buttery soft outer shell and fleece lining, this jacket is almost as comfy as a sweatshirt, even though it's technical enough to see me through the most epic of rides. It looks classy for a sporty cycling jacket too, because it fits well and isn't spattered with loud logos. The Fusion Thermal Jacket makes me feel a little better about being so naïve to think that I was escaping cold winters by moving to the Northwest!

Windstopper Soft Shells offer total windproofness and maximum breathability, combining the comfort of a soft mid-layer and the water resistance of a shell in one garment. Features underarm zippers for adjustable ventilation and a drop tail for weather protection, and offers freedom of movement with enhanced performance in a wide range of activities and weather conditions. Check out the additional unique features. Having trouble choosing a Gore Jacket? Compare the features on our handy Gore Jacket comparison chart

NOTE: This jacket is constructed with waterproof materials.  However, the inside seams are not taped so we do not classify this jacket as fully waterproof.  For example, under steady rain conditions, wearers may find water entering the garment via the untaped seams.

Wonderful for cold weather!

(Avid Athlete) March 21, 2011

I live in Illinois and the weather at best is never the same as when you start your ride and when you end. I'm a long distance rider so I don't want to have to pack things back after it starts to warm up. But I've use this jacket in 20 degrees and was find all the way up to 50! Well worth the money!

Great for cold weather- highly recommend

(Avid Athlete) May 13, 2010

I love this jacket. I tend to get cold easily especially cycling in the cold/wind. I wear it cycling in 40 to 50 degree weather with 0 to 20 mph winds with a heavy thermal or light base shirt underneath and am always warm. If I get warm, I simply unzip the vents. I also wear it casual on all but the coldest days and am always very comfortable.
