Shape Magazine called the Xtra Support Bra III "Best For D+ Cups." They said: "Reinforced material at five points around each breast provided "plenty of stability on a 4-miler," said a runner. And with temperature-regulating fabric and mesh inserts, this bra is highly breathable too."

Susan from TE had this to say after wearing her Xtra Support Bra in a recent triathlon.

"I’m very picky about bras. I’m large busted (36D) and will only wear sport bras that a) eliminate or greatly reduce vertical movement, b) don’t produce the dreaded uniboob, c) have smooth seams on the interior face to eliminate chafing and, d) dry very quickly.

I was very excited to try the CW-X Xtra Support Bra because it appeared likely to meet all my requirements. And I was not disappointed! I chose this bra for a recent triathlon and was very impressed. While it’s not a “lift and separate” type of bra, it’s not a “smash ‘em and mash ‘em bra” either. It’s tailored to give a nice bust line while still providing good support, and it looked great under my Tyr Tri Top!

The Bra dried out quickly during the bike portion of the triathlon. I was completely comfortable during the run. Absolutely no chafing and very little bounce was evident. In fact, I forgot I was even testing the bra as it did its job so well and allowed me to concentrate on putting one foot in front of the other towards the finish line!"

  • four-way stretch Coolmax® Tricot fabric (80% Coolmax®/20% Lycra® with Lite-Stretch mesh front panel keeps the skin dry through quick dry moisture movement and provides excellent comfort, fit, and compression support
  • patented 5-point Targeted Support Web™ built into each cup with an extra layer of mesh web (80% Polyester/20% Polyurethane) provides support to breasts with five interconnected floating inner cup straps which work in concert with the shoulder straps and a base strap to provide motion control during activity
  • four-way stretch mesh (79% Polyurethane/21% Nylon) internal venting panel sits under the bust line for breathability and moisture evaporation
  • top and side seams are flat and offset to the back of the bra to prevent chafing and improve comfort
  • wide stretch band for extra support
  • new, back "hook and clasp" adjustable closure system, with 3 rows of 2 hooks, and a wider opening
  • crossover racer-back reinforced with support webbing for back support

No need to double bra it!

(Comfort-oriented, Practical) June 24, 2014

This is the first sports bra I've found that I can run in without the added support of another bra. It keeps the 34DD girls in place and I don't think about them at all while I run. I sweat a lot when I run and I've been impressed by how breathable the fabric is too.

Pros

  • Durable
  • Good Support

I'm a C cup and have never been comfortable running- this bra is EXACTLY what I've been looking for- although it's expensive, it's worth it! The support alone is worth it, the durability, breathability and comfort is just icing on the cake! VERY happy- will buy again, and again, and again!

BEST EVER!

(Comfort-oriented) July 17, 2013

Big chested runners finally get an awesome bra! This is the one! Make sure you measure as suggested before you order. I have tried many brands of running bras (and they are not cheap) and I highly recommend this one as my top pick. I own (3) now. You won't regret your purchase - it's worth the investment.

Overall - Loved it for running

(Large Chest Runner) June 26, 2013

I really was impressed with this bra. I am a 34DD in everyday bras and ended up being a 36DD in this one. I found it great for running/jogging. I quickly forgot it was a process to put on. My one note about this bra is the closers. I felt them digging in a bit. I just tucked my shirt under the bra strap in the back and it helped.

Pros
  • Comfortable
  • Breathable
  • Limits Bounce

Best running bra for those needing one!

(Comfort-oriented, Practical) April 6, 2013

Please continue to carry this bra! After searching for years and throwing away money on inferior designs, this is it. This bra stops the awkward motion of my breasts when all I want to do is run forward! Everything stays in place, so I don't have to tug on the band, or adjust the straps when all I want to do is run. I have a narrow rib cage, and it is not easy to find a D or DD with only a 32 or 34 band, but thankfully, this bra comes in many sizes.

Pros
  • Straps That Do Not Slide
  • Good Support
Cons
Uses
  • High Impact Exercise
  • Jogging

Good support!

(Stylish, Comfort-oriented, Practical) December 28, 2012

I use this bra when I want full support for longer runs. I am large chested and some days I need super support. It works great in these situations but not a bra I want to linger in after exercise. It is not as bad as some extra support bras to get on and off but it is not without some awkward movement!

  • Good Support
  • Comfortable
  • Durable
  • Straps That Do Not Slide

PERFECT!

(Conservative, Comfort-oriented, Practical) November 28, 2012

I am a 38 1/2 D in a regular underwire bra and I purchased both the 38-D and the 38-DD. Both fit, but the 38DD is absolutely brilliant. The only knock anyone can give this bra is the minor inconvenience of getting it on. Which is understably difficult given what we busty girls are asking it to do!

I love that this bra holds everything in place but doesn't squash my girls. It also fits well into the underarm so you don't get that dreaded "spillover" that can happen with high impact bras. This sucker really fits! Also, I love the adjustable band. It's perfect for us in-betweeners.

For anyone who thinks this is a bra to model in, though, think again. The neckline is higher than regular sports bras so no cleavage whatsoever shows. This is great by me, but I know some ladies enjoy showing off their assets so I thought I would mention it.

Best running bra-c cup

October 31, 2012

I have worn this bra for several years. It is the best running bra out there! Dissapointed on this last purchase that the manufacturers chose to put regular hook-eye enclosures on the back instead of the single large more industrial hook. The original hook was more secure, less flimsy and much easier to unhook when you are sweaty. The newer typical bra type hooks are cheap and tend to bend.

Cons

Great support even with product flaw

(Conservative, Comfort-oriented, Practical) August 21, 2012

Great support but the band doesn't have enough fabric to keep the hooks covered. That combined with the thick, plastic-like thread used makes my back bleed. When I have someone home to help I just tape it (impossible to do alone). I contacted the bra maker, they are aware and already working to design new closure. Also, I'm a 38DD and this creates a tube/unichest, but I'm more worried about support so I look past it. Overall I'll keep wearing it, but will look forward to their new design.

Awesome purchase!

(Comfort-oriented, Practical) July 14, 2012

I researched thoroughly before purchasing the best triathlon bras. It is not a cheap buy, so I wanted to make sure it would be the right buy. I can now say it is worth every dime. I did my first tri with it and loved it! I am a cup D and was concerned it would not have enough support, but it absolutely does. Not only that, but it is light weight and breathable, and does not retain water. I am very pleased with this item and would definitely recommend it! Obviously, I will wear it again on my next tri.

Overall I am pleased

(Sexy, High-end shopper, Comfort-oriented, Stylish, Practical) June 29, 2012

I am so used to having to buy my w/o bras too small that I ordered the wrong size. I normally get a DD and with this bra it appears I need a D. The bra is very comfortable and I intend to order the D cup. It does show above the tanks I wear to w/o, but I can live with that. I think I've found a bra that I don't have to fight to get into and out of!!! Why is there not a 32" DD for those of us who have a small ribcage and full breasts???

This bra makes me happy

May 2, 2012

I had the previous version of this bra and loved it so much that I didn't want to wear my other running bras any more, so I finally had to buy another. I wear a DD and have a very low bounce tolerance when running. This bra is wonderfully supportive with virtually zero bounce. I've had sports bras in the past that made my shoulders ache, but this fits comfortably everywhere. The new closure is a great improvement for ease of removal - sometimes I have the devil of a time geting out of the previous version. I have begun to experience a tiny bit of chafing on my back when I run 3 hours or more, but it's nothing that I notice while I'm running.

Pros
  • Straps That Do Not Slide
  • Comfortable
  • Good Support
Cons

  • High Impact Exercise

Best product ever

(Practical, Comfort-oriented) April 16, 2012

After searching for months to find a sports bra for a DD cup, I came across this product. By far the best sports bra I have ever purchased. It provides excellent support, and doesn't cause the dreaded "uni-chest" I have found with other bras.
The only negative is the hook closure on the back, which makes it hard to fasten without help or extreme dexterity! But...overall a fantastic bra well worth the money.

  • Good Support

Best Bra EVER!

(Comfort-oriented, Practical) February 10, 2012

I am a 36D athlete - running, aerobics, spin, kickboxing, lifting - and finding a bra that fits well, keeps the girls from bouncing around, and doesn't give me the uni look is hard! But CWX has long been my go to for great bras that met most of my criteria. These latest models particularly this one are the best CWX has made for larger chested women and I highly recommend these. The only negative I can find is that the coverage for where the hooks are is not enough and sometimes I can feel them digging into my skin.

Pros
  • Breathable

Great bra for large busted ladies

(Comfort-oriented, Practical) July 23, 2011

I have had a hard time finding good sports bras for high impact activities because I'm large busted and don't like the feeling of the "uni-breast" that you get with some products. This bra is AMAZING!! It gives the support for large busted ladies without smashing your breasts into a log.

Excellent!

(Conservative, Comfort-oriented) March 18, 2011

Excellent support; Minimal bounce for 38C when running without restricting compression fit. It gives somewhere between a separated bust line and a a "unibust". Have recommended this bra. Not a sexy running bra by any means but the support is the best I've ever had for running.

great bra for active curves

(Practical, Comfort-oriented) March 18, 2011

I'm a fitness instructor, besides being a cyclist & moutain biker. Having a great sports bra is a must in my active life. As a 34D it's difficult to find a small band size with a larger cup. This bra is the only one I can wear that fits and performs well. I hope they never stop making it!

LOVE THIS BRA!

(High-end shopper) May 20, 2010

I am a 32 D and have a tough time finding a bra that gives adequate support and that can be worn with a racerback tank. This bra is a MUST HAVE for any women needing alot of support. I am Canadian and it was quite a bit cheaper buying through this website even with the [...] exchange rate.

Thought I'd never find this!

(Practical, Stylish) April 14, 2010

I use this for running and cycling -- anywhere I need to use my HR monitor. With underwire cups, the HR monitor is painful. With this bra, it fits comfortably under the band. I get total support, and I'm a DD! Wow! I have searched high and low for this. The only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is that after a couple of hours in it, I start to feel a little cramped. But then again, that's what keeps me from bouncing! Oh, and you don't end up looking squished!

CW-X is an amazing buy

(Practical) September 18, 2009

This bra minimizes bounce more than any other that I have tried. It's been a long search! I can even jump rope in it! I havn't owned it long enough to say how durable it is, but CW-X products are top quality. I usually fit best into a 32D, but found that was a little uncomfortable and got a 34D instead. [...].
