Great sun protection in the heat

(Avid Cyclist) July 15, 2014

These sleeves provide great sun protection - no sunblock needed except for the bit of unprotected wrist just above the glove. They really do provide excellent cooling as well, even on humid summer days.

  • Comfortable

Great for protection from strong sun

(Avid Cyclist) July 2, 2013

I use these every time I ride in the summer and have found that my skin is well protected from the sun. The sun/UV exposure is very strong in Colorado and my farmer tan is not as noticeable as it has been in the past. They are very lightweight and silky feeling; and I feel they keep my skin cooler under the sun than if I just had bare arms. Since they are white, I do expect them to stain over time like other arm coolers I've used in the past.

  • Comfortable

Good Sun Sleeves

(Avid Cyclist) October 17, 2012

I like to use white sleeves in the summer to avoid so much UV exposure. These are the lightest, coolest sleeves I have used yet.
My only complaint, and this seems to be true of many brands, is that the white sleeves are easily stained by sweat.

  • Dry Easily
  • Comfortable
  • Blocks Sun
  • Wicking

  • Stains Easily
  • Makes You Hotter Climbing

Perfect for Texas summers

(Avid Cyclist) June 20, 2012

I was really starting to drag in the Texas heat on 40+ mile rides AND I was really worried about how much time I was spending with my arms and legs baking in the sun while riding (yeah, beating melanoma will make you really aware of this). I promised my dermatologist I'd protect my skin while riding, so I decided to try these Craft arm coolers out on a recent 48 mile ride in full sun.

I was somewhat skeptical about the claim that they would keep me cooler, but I was still willing to try them because of the SPF sun protection. But, much to my surprise, they really, truly do work in terms of keeping you cooler while riding. I am a complete convert.

The fabric feels great on and it really helped to keep wetting the sleeves as they dried out. I finished 49 miles without a hint of sunburn or feeling like I'd rode hard and been left out to bake. I came home and immediately ordered a 2nd pair. These will be in my bag at all times and I will happily wear them with all my short sleeve jerseys and am spreading the word to my cycling friends (of course, they would work well for runners too).

I found that they stayed up without problem and were snug, but not uncomfortable.

Wish Craft made a similar item for knees/legs.

Great Sun Protection

(Avid Cyclist) April 18, 2012

I ordered this arm cooler in white and the pink as the desoto arm coolers weren't holding up very well. I needed to keep my arms covered to prevent the biker tan lines forming before my wedding. The size is about right for a S/M. I have to take in all size small arm warmers and these are no exception. They have no elastic so its the same stretchy material Craft uses on their Jerseys. I actually didn't sweat as much in these as the desoto arm cooler which was a plus. They covered very well and I do not have any tan lines which is great! The material is very soft and comfortable. I would recommend these to anyone looking for a alternative.
