The Canari Evolution shorts are simple and sleek yet comfy and protective where you need it most.
Fit note: Internal fit testing and customer feedback indicates that this short is running small. Unless you like a quite compressive fit, you may wish to order a size up.

Susan says:OK, I confess. When I think about getting myself a new pair of high performance shorts, Canari is not the first brand to come to mind. For me, Canari has always been about good shorts at great prices, which is one of the reasons it's a staple of our inventory here at TE.
But last year, our Canari sales rep gave me a pair of Evolution Shorts to try. As a mid-priced short, I expected mid-distance performance out of them. Well. Consider me an Evolution convert. I got so much more than I expected out of these shorts!
To begin with, I found the fabric very supportive. And it stayed that way, even on long rides. I loooooooove the super soft non-binding elastic leg grippers Canari chose. They keep the short in place without giving me a squeezy look.
But, the thing that most impressed me was the Queen chamois pad. It's dimpled on the surface, sort of like an oversized golf ball surface. I found that it did a great job distributing heat, pressure and moisture on long rides. I was such a fan on the chamois, that I chose the Evolution short for my 1st 24-hour time trail in September 2009. I rode the first 12 hours of the event in this short, and was surprisingly comfortable the entire time!
I guess I have a whole new way of thinking about Canari.
Fit note: Rise is a little lower than average. Customers who like a mid to high rise might not like the fit. Size M was a supportive, moderately compressive fit for me, with a 27.5 inch waist, 37.5 inch hip. Per the size chart, those measurements put me on the border between a small and medium. Based on that, I'd recommend that most customers order one size up, unless you are at the very bottom of the measurements for a given size, in which case the size indicated should be appropriate for you.
