Susan says:This year I took up randonneuring, which necessitated me finding a mapcase that I could use on brevets. I happened upon this one at a local outdoor store, and decided to give it a try. It's inaugural trip was on a 600K here in Oregon. Mother Nature threw a lot of rain our way on that ride, and I was pleasantly surprised to discover that my map stayed completely dry the entire ride. I also found it very convenient that it has clear windows on two sides, so I can have turn by turn directions facing up, and a "big picture" map overview on the back. I was so pleased with it's performance that I decided we simply *had* to carry it here at TeamEstrogen.com!

  • sized for 8.5 x 11 paper folded in 1/4
  • window size 5.75 x 5.5 inches
  • lift to see the clear backside
  • waterproof on 3 sides
  • velcro opening at rear
  • attaches with two velcro loops

love my bar map

(Casual/ Recreational) November 4, 2011

now I don't have to hold my map in my hand (it tended to get sweaty). I thought this was going to be a half-page holder, though now I find this is just the right size to hold my folded, printed maps.

  • Lightweight
  • Easy to Use

map holder

(Casual/ Recreational) November 1, 2011

I ride with a group and they hand out maps to each rider that wants one. I never had a place to put it where I could get and read it easily and now I do. The only downside for me is the corners on the bottom of the map holder scratch my knees as they go up and down.

  • Lightweight
  • Easy to Use
  • Durable
Cons
  • Corners scratch knees
