Hello ladies!

I know spring is coming because the daffodils in front of the house are
almost a foot high already. My favorite cycling season is just around the
corner, I can feel it!

Actually, I should be very grateful - we've had an extremely mild winter
here in the Pacific Northwest. Typically we are hemmed in with rain and
clouds all winter, but here in Portland we have had many
uncharacteristically sunny days. Last weekend we took advantage of the
sunshine and took to the roads for a few hours. On our way home we even
took the time to explore a "powerline" park we have passed many times but
never used. Beneath the powerlines, the city of Beaverton (Portland's
neighbor to the West) has left a greenway and paved a 6-8 foot wide path for
use by pedestrians/cyclists, etc. It's a nice alternative to riding the
city streets, which can get very crowded on a sunny weekend.

How about you? Has spring arrived in your corner of the world yet?

Susan

P.S. As you probably know, this is a new list we have created here at Team
Estrogen. Please feel free to post about pretty much anything related to
cycling. Membership on this list is small, but growing. I look forward to
"chatting" with you!

Well, grrrls,

I wish I could say spring was on its way in Jackson Hole, but everything
— including my favorite trails — is still covered with at least a foot
of snow. Guess I'll have to be a roadie for a while, 'til something
melts and dries up...

I'm in San Francisco and it's rained off and on the
past few weeks but I've still managed to get out
there and ride. Just last weekend I drove down to
San Luis Obispo for a weekend ride and although it
was windy and rainy, the scenery was still breathe-
taking! Can't wait 'til century season.
